Hello everyone! I'm Morning Song, and have been lurking around here long enough that i thought i should finally register and say hi.
I've been an Ys fan since i first got ahold of the Super Nintendo version of Ys III, and a fanatic since i played the Napishtic games, and Ys I and II complete in college. (The latter of which have what is still some of the most utterly beautiful pixel art in history. And to think they did all that with only 256 colors)
I've more recently been playing through some of the older School Ys releases--The Turbografx version of I&II, the SNES version of IV, even the DOS version of I. I've got Ys I Eternal and the PC-88 versions in my queue too...neither of which bothers me for a lack of English release. I think i could finish Darm Tower in my sleep by now.
And i even spread the Ys loving a little, most significantly to my sweetheart, who posts on these forums as Rhyanna (HI RHYANNA! <3)

Spread the Falcom love! One of us! One of us!
err.. I mean hello and your experience with getting into Ys sounds very similar to mine, but flip flop when I played Napishtim & Complete and offset the whole experience by 2+ years. Napishtim came out while I was in college. I asked around and nobody could tell me if the game was really good or not. I couldn't even find anyone who had actually played it, just read reviews. A year or 2 out of college I finally played Ys I & II Complete in English and then immediately played Napishtim after finishing them on Nightmare. From there it's all been downhill uphill playing everything else and exploring Falcom titles outside of the Ys series

Hiiiiiii lovey!
Without Morning Song I would only know III for the SNES, and would have thought it was pronounced as though there were multiple letter 'Y's running around.
She also has a pretty good time trial for Ys I recorded that I would link to, but at work youtube is blocked...

Bahh! That one is embarrassing. I call Ys Complete "Eternal", when i know better! But anyhow, nice to meet you Karura, and Schlagwerk! I think our Ystory is a litle closer than you thought. I simplified my order a bit to fit nicely in a paragraph. In reality it went something like.. Ys III->Many years->bit of Napishtim->several more years->Felghana->Complete->All the rest. I haven't quite branched out into other Falcomery yet, but as Rhyanna has alluded to a few times, i'm mildly phobic of playing a game that has a plot that i don't understand while i'm playing. ^^;

I still haven't finished Popful Mail and I still own a Sega CD and a physical copy. <_< I haven't quite branched out into other Falcomery yet, but as Rhyanna has alluded to a few times, I'm mildly phobic of playing a game that has a plot that I don't understand while I'm playing. ^^; I'm a little more adventurous. I've played Ys Origin (too many times), Legend of Xanadu, Xanadu Next, and Ys vs Sora no Kiseki without being able to completely understand the story.. but I've refused to touch Sora no Kiseki so far until I can fully understand it. I guess I'll hold back when I really want to know the story and it is important to me
