m.plixi.com/p/72753275Pretty hard to see here, but source is Falcom's twitter. Think this deserves its own thread. (thanks to floofy for the link)

Well, given that they're already good with the PSP and its successor undoubtedly will be easier to get used to than switching to another platform I can't say that I'm surprised.

Awesome, but not at all surprising.

Well, I suppose it's alright. But I still want a PS3 game or two as well.

Still missing the PC games It had better be region free too or else I won't be buying one for a few years no matter who's developing for it

I do find myself wondering how long have developers known about it. Because if it's the case- then I imagine this will be the system with the Ys Seven Multiplatform on it. Right? Now you're starting to believe it too, soon everyone will believe it... and then it'll come true! Damn you, PSP(2)!

I thought an announcement like that would piss me off, but I just really want a sharper looking, more rockin' version of Ys 7.

And the NGP (PSP2) announcement was only missing one thing for me to be 100% sold on it (TV-out capability). Add that, and it's a day one purchase for me. -Tom (*^-^)/\(^-^*)ナカマ!

Can totally respect wanting standardization. You won't hear me rallying against it, but you will hear me whining when it goes too far. But I guess as long as important things like button layout are freeform... Honestly, right now it doesnt look like it has two shoulder buttons on either side, and thats my biggest issue with it. ...wait, they never said it was an Ys game did they? No, but if we keep buying Ys games...

All I know is that if the PSP2/NGP has region-locking I will rage. Granted, I'll be getting a Japanese one anyways because I prefer their Circle/X scheme. Plus, after an annoying experience with a borrowed US PS3/Japanese game combo (where the buttons were all screwed up because whenever it told me to use Circle, the system kept insisting it was X I needed to press and vice versa) I don't trust the new system to be accomodating of import game controls. That being said, I'd rather not have to then buy a US one as well to play US games like Nintendo is eventually going to make me do with the 3DS. Curse you Nintendo!
On the subject of games, if this is where multiplatform Seven is going I hope it's just a bit more than a graphically spruced up title. I mean, better graphics and full instrumental music is nice and all but if they give us what's basically the same portable game again (with basically the same screen size to boot) it's just not gonna be all that interesting.

Or you could buy a flashcart instead of buying the same console twice.

...wait, they never said it was an Ys game did they? Well, we are kind of overdue for a new Ys game. Or, we will be by the time 2012 rolls around.

Actually, Yotaka, the PSP2 has a much larger screen than the original PSP. Nitpicking, I know. But I generally agree with your post. There's a chance it might be region-locked, but I'm crossing my fingers that it won't come to that. I still have some ignorant faith in Sony.

Well, we are kind of overdue for a new Ys game. Or, we will be by the time 2012 rolls around. We were overdue for an Ys game when Ys 6 was brought out... but I shouldn't complain, I wasn't a fan then. I have a hunch the 'new title' they're working on is gonna be a NGP game. Still hopin' on Ys 7 PS3.

You know... seeing the specs for the NGP (I hate that codename, it makes me think of the vastly superior NeoGeo Pocket), Falcom could likely port PS3 games to it, and vice versa, with very few changes.

If by multiplatform they mean "release it on ANOTHER handheld," I will kick a panda cub.
And I like panda cubs.

I can understand them region locking download titles (or at least sticking with the current situation and requiring an account for each region), but region locked games will make Kimimi cry ;_;
I've still got *tons* of games to buy for the first PSP anyway, some I'm really not in a rush for this.
