Hello all. After having played the Ys games and Trails in the Sky, I have the urge to try out more Falcom games, especially any translated by XSEED. I am a big fan of RPGs. Anyone know some games I'd like?

Ys: The Ark of Napishtim has also been released in English on the PS2 and PSP, but if you're to play it, I recommend going with the PS2 version. Yeah, they replaced all the 2D sprites with 3D models, and created a cheesy new CG opening movie, but the game plays much more smoothly than in the PSP version (which is riddled with long load times, low-res textures and low framerates), and features full voice-acting, so it's very much the superior version. Haha, actually, TAoN is included among the Ys games I've played - albeit it was the PSP version. In fact, I've played it like 10 times XD I'll have a look at Gurumin and Popful Mail though. Also, one other Falcom game I've played is The Legend of Heroes: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch, but... well, yeah. Wasn't impressed with that Absolutely loved Trails in the Sky though. The fantastic dialogue in that certainly earned it countless points. A game as text-heavy as that wouldn't have been half as enjoyable if not for the incredible translation. ^_^ I really enjoyed Ys Seven, OiF and Chronicles' translations. If I'm not mistaken, Wyrdwad, don't you work for XSEED? Props to you!

Time for my recommendation of The Legend of Xanadu I & II. A translation is in progress for the second one, but I assure you they can be played and enjoyed in Japanese. The first one requires a lot of work and backtracking, especially if you're like me and don't know Japanese, but it is worth it. The second one is much easier, and prettier.
Here's a couple of my videos from both games Both are PC Engine/later made available on PC
LoX I
LoX II
You can feel the rulingness!

Popful Mail!! DonĀ“t forget Popful Mail for Sega CD!!! May God give Working Designs a merciful rest for their localization m(_ _)m Mine's in the post! Apart from echoing what's already been said I don't know what else to recommend you. Falcom have made a lot of other great games but the enjoyment you'll get from them depends on your tolerance/ability for Japanese.

There's also Legacy of the Wizard for the NES. I have the actual cart. I don't like it very much, though.

I still can't believe LoX2 is for PCE. I mean, who would have thought the PCE had THAT much potential...

I'd actually mistake it for minimally a PS1/PC game... The SNES can't pull off all those cutscenes of that quality, especially with voiceacting. It's just superb. Part of me feels even like "Wow, I wish they had made an Ys game like so!". XD
