Greetings to everyone here. I've never really posted in the introduction section of a forum before, but there's a first time for everything I suppose.
Like a good number of people, I got into the Ys series starting with Seven. Before Seven, I had only heard of the series by name and was familiar with To Make the End of Battle (without knowing its name or where it came from, of course). After being blown away by Ys Seven, I got my hands on Oath in Felghana which was equally as impressive. After taking a bit of a break I bought and played through Ark of Napishtim, and within the past month and a half I've played everything except Dawn of Ys, V and Origin.
As far as I go, I guess it was the charm of a short, challenging, fairly simple adventure tied to a larger mythology and the fact that the series' world map is based on Earth that got me hooked, alongside the spectacular soundtracks and action. Being a huge music fan, the series (and soundtrack listings) quickly stuck to memory (with one very strange case of Deja Vu during a first time playthrough xD)
I actually stumbled on this forum after figuring out the bump mechanic of Ys I with a little help from Hardcore Gaming 101, and have been somewhat (shamefully) lurking until I finished Mask of the Sun. From what I can tell, the community here seems fairly small, but tight-knit? Regardless of statistics, it's nice to come across any number of others who share similar interests, ya know?
Oh, and if it's not apparent, I can tend to ramble on and on when there's a keyboard at my disposal, rofl.
