Hey guys I'm looking for someone to possibly help me out by translating the speech from the Legend of Xanadu ending to text form as accurate and professionally as possible. I want to make a (Youtube) ending video with the translation so that everyone can enjoy and understand that incredibly beautiful ending (including me). The translator(s) will be, of course, credited on the video. Don't be put off by the length of the video, the actual speech is only a part of it. Anyway, hope someone can help and thanks!

I'll take a look at it this afternoon. I'd prefer to do the whole game, though

00:16 Lord Alios! You're all right! I knew you could do it. 00:21 Darn right he could! Stealing all the glory for himself. ... Woah! That jewel is huge! 00:30 You did it, Alios! You killed the Dark Dragon! [邪竜 - Jaryuu, direct and not very good translation] 00:35 Alios... Now peace will return to Ishtaria. Sir Alios -- I always believed that you could overcome this fierce trial. 00:44 Lady Sophia...? Where is Lady Sophia!? 00:47 Media... Sophia, she... 00:51~ Excellent work, young hero. I am Krene. I am the almighty, and I have the power to grant your desire. I shall bestow upon you the strength you seek. So, Alios -- What do you desire? 01:14 Krene, I... 01:18 I wish for nothing!! What we really need is NOT power! 01:25 You say... you do not need my power? 01:29 The power of magic can help people live their lives... But if it falls into the wrong hands, it can also bring about disaster. I have no need for power of such extremes! 01:45 Impudent wretch... How dare you! You know nothing! You know nothing!! Magic guides people. It gives their lives worth!! Humans cannot live without magic!! 02:02 Men must realize their own dreams!! As long as they pledge themselves to reason, and do so with truth in their heart, all men can realize their dreams -- and can obtain that strength through their own efforts! That is true power! 02:21 Krene - Be gone! Mankind has no need of your kind of power! 02:26 Foolish revile! You deny the power that can grant any desire? You deny MY power!? If that is your decision - then witness the power that you fail to recognize!!
-Fight-
04:18 The power of the Krene Jewel was too much to fathom... Even if I borrowed that power, even if I created a world of affluent wealth and happiness - would it really be at peace? 04:38 And would people really be happy? If I accepted such power, would I even be able to remain the same person I am now? ... 04:54 Many people have been made to suffer because of this power, this power that was abused to fulfill such ugly ambitions... People have been living for too long relying on Krene's power. And without that power, people may suffer or live in chaos, but-- 05:13 I believe that is humanity's true form. To live not with power that forces you onward, but to live relying on yourselves - that is real living, and that is what will allow us to move forward... 05:27 Can we not? 05:30 So what we need is not Krene's power, but the power dwelling within us - courage. 05:40 Without Krene, our world will turn into the world from a thousand years ago, where there was no magic... Will we be able to perservere? 05:56 I believe we have no need to fear. There may be a brief period of strife, but -- people are not so weak. Sir Alios, just now, you conquered Krene through your own strength, did you not? 06:13 Sir Alios, I'm confident your will shall be understood by the people. 06:24 The Krene Jewel... A treasure that held infinite gifts, only to be sought after by those that seek power... Krene could not exist without a master that had those desires. 06:43 Man, I was really worried there for a second. 06:46 Hey, Media, do you think all magic-users like us will, once we master our powers, eventually end up like Krene? 06:58 No... The power of magic is tied deeply with the heart of its user. As long as the user is aware of this, then they will surely never lose their way. To that end, we must train our hearts as well as our minds. 07:15 At any rate, once people find out we're to blame for this Krene Jewel incident, there's gonna be a riot. 07:22 Hah, you mean killing the Dark Dragon, destroying the Krene Jewel, and making magic never be able to be used for all of eternity? 07:33 In any case, it appears the Prophecy of the Wind has indeed become a reality. 07:37 Nuse, I been meaning to ask you. You predicted this would happen all along, didn't you? 07:43 Ever since hearing it from Sir Enas. But even I couldn't have believed it would have happened so quickly. 07:55 Hey -- The Dragonslayer!
======================= That should be all of it. It's broken up according to changes in the character speaker and sometimes if there's a long pause. I'm sure you can figure it out. I didn't edit it or review it either, it's very first-pass, so if you wanna change shit that's up to you

A-amazing...!! I didn't think anyone was going to do it I would love to have the whole game translated too, but even if, there's no one to hack everything in. I won't change anything because I wouldn't even know what to change. If you feel like taking a second look and refine/correct something, go right ahead because I won't be able to add the translation to the video until monday night. Thanks for taking the time to do this though!

Oh wow, someone actually translated it! I wasn't really looking forward to this, but from the dialogue, this game seems to have a quite good story, too! Sweet! Thanks for this translation!

That is very impressive rx782! You turned that around in no time at all. : )
This reminds me of the ending cut scenes of Xak III: The Eternal Recurrence that the dialogue speech was never translated for in the English version. I had to more or less guess what was going on...
Great job! : )

Funny you mention Xak 3 Skywelse, I just finished playing the PCE version (great game, more refined than the previous ones) and I'll be looking for someone to translate that ending too Too bad the translation project for that game didn't translate it in text form like they did with Ys 4.
