Hello everyone =). My nickname says Lore but you can call me Chris aswell. Im 18 and im comeing from Bosnia and Herzegovina (an Ex-Yugoslavian contry on the Balkan). I found out about Ys Origin while looking at steam web site and i find it awesome. I came rly far and also instaled Ys 6. The story of this game is pretty awesome and the gameplay aint hard aswell. Im a huge fan of JRPG so this is the right stuff for me xD. If you have some questions, feel free to send an pm. =)

Cool! Someone from Bosnia. I think we really are one of the most diverse / global gaming communities out there. Nice to hear that Ys games have peaked your interest, Lore.
Be sure to check out Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin since they share very similar game play (same engine) as Ys 6, but have a better overall story. And if you are interested in checking out Adol's first adventures, there is Ys I & II Complete / Chronicles to get into. : )

So you started with Origins... well it's nice to hear that it's so good that it got you into the Ys series. Me, I started with Ys I & II Chronicles for the PSP... Origins is actually a game I'm saving for near the end of my Ys playing.
Well, welcome anyways. I just started with the series & this forum myself. So here's hoping we both stay Ys fans forever.

First of all i would like to thank you for this kind words =) I started with Ys origin because i saw the pervious versions and they arent good as this one and i dont know many things about the storyline aswell. Also, i dont poses an PSP so im not sure if im able to play that Ys I and II Chronicles (only if there is a version for the pc). At the moment i like the game rly much. I started with Hugo. Not because its suggested for beginers. Its because i love wizards and its rly interesting to play with him. When im done with him ill play with the girl too. Adol is the main protagonist of the story i guess? I should read about the storylie a little bit and now i got time since im done with my school. If you have some tips to suggest or if you have a link for the storyline where i can read it, pls post it here. Also thanks for the lovely soundtrack =) Thanks for the posts guys =)

Welcome. The game takes place 700 years before Ys I, and Adol is the main hero of the Ys series, so he wasn't born yet, but you can unlock him as an eastern egg in the unlockable Arena Mode . By the way, I assure you most if not all Ys games are as good as or better than Ys Origin. Also, Chronicles was released for PC, as well. "Ys I.II COMPLETE" was also released before Chronicles, on PC, which has an English patch. It's Chronicles, but without its soundtrack and new artwork, but it offers pretty much the same experience.

It will be a pain in the ass finding all those games xD right now I'm downloading Ys: The Oath in Felghana. Ill try to play all Ys series =) Really? I never really found finding games to download a pain at all. Now finding them in physical form is another thing, since most of my games come from locally and or nearest cities (I really have to set an EBay account already). And finding them new, which is what I prefer due to best condition + this way I can support my fave developers & translators or anybody making any games I love, is even harder to find if the games aren't that new anymore. (And man, finding used games in decent condition or with manuals is such a pain sometimes. If a game is not complete or in good condition, it's no different to me then a download) Right now after I move to the big city, Toronto, I plan I getting Oath and Origins for the PC off Steam right away. I really enjoy Xseeds translations and games they bring over too much to not support them at full price (well, Origins is at least non-marked down price last I checked). And why not, I'm still good with money... so far. >_>

Now I kinda feel bad for downloading them and not buying them Oh no! Now I feel bad for making you feel bad. Well, I'm sure you have your own reasons for doing whatever. And if you do have a guilty conscience and it would of been easy for you to fix (ie. got money to spare, or whatever), then look on the bright side and make this as a learning experience. Me personally I love certain games some make/bring over so much, that I feel I have to thank them with my money in hopes that they'll still be around and bringing the same great quality goodness. Especially when these developers or translators are niche, as they need it most + they bring over/make the best games anyways. Also, I've just become an Xseed fan thanks to them for bringing over so many Falcom games, and more too come (not to mention their other games look very impressive too. So they seem to have great tastes). And from playing the first two Ys games they've translated and started up with Trails in the Sky now, I have to say I'm very impressed with their translations. So even if there are fan translations of Oath & Origins, and even if I did play them, I would still buy Xseed's translations just for the excellent quality & standards I know I'll get from them. ... Now this may not be the case with everybody, but I really get way more out of these games due to Xseed's translating them (whether this sounds kiss ass or not, I care not )... I also dig & can relate to their sense of humor too that really puts a smile on my face or give me a good laugh to brighten my day. As they aren't overly silly like Working Designs translations, and out of character of touch with the game's world (though many seem to of liked their translation still. I'm just saying it wasn't for me as they went too overboard with a sense of humor I mostly couldn't relate with).

I dont have much money to spare and we dont have anywhere to buy them here in Sarajevo And to buy witha creditcard...tahts a little bit complicated with my mother xD
