Lately, I have been seriously interested in checking all the pre-story info on Ys I that is found within the Ys I manual for PC-8801mkIIsr, the first Ys game ever released. So I wondered if the whole game manual wasn't scanned and uploaded out there somewhere? Anyone has any ideas?

I'll later upload each picture of the Ys I scans I got from that Russian site for ease of view. But as I suspected, unlike what floofy said in her site, "Felghana" WASN'T brought up in the pre-story, especially nothing like "The Darkness of Felghana" (maybe she assumed it did perhaps because maybe (this is odd-sounding, I know : the Ys I~VI Perfect Data book mentions it in a way the reader assumes it was always there in the original pre-story?). I did spot the word "Tigres", however. Since I don't really understand Japanese, I'm not sure what this refered to. Was that the original katakana for "Tigray"? (As in, Tigray Querry.) Anyway, there CERTAINLY is a LOT of interesting stuff in that. And some interesting artwork, especially Dark Fact in the last pages of the manual. How they came up with all the monster names since those times, Krimerai and merai distance measurements (1.2 Km and 1.2 m, respectively), and how the Ys Eternal's (not Complete's or Chronicles') opening showing Esteria and Darm Tower far away in the horizon was a re-illustration of an artwork in the manual's pre-story... Amazing.

I noticed Ys Eternal was VERY loyal to this manual. They added some of the pre-story as part of the actual game, and of course, the beginning of the pre-story in EngRish in the Ys Eternal loading screen. But not the whole thing (although all else left to be put was shown summarizedly in the Ys Eternal intro, which kicks ass hard big time).
This things needs a translation...
By the way, I believe somewhere in it states Adol had "red hair like fire and black eyes like *insert something very black here*", but I couldn't indentify that part if it's really there.
In any case, it's possible to notice Adol's "beta" artwork in it, despite have been a bit revamped, his hair color is still red. In some of the pictures, it looks brown, in some red-brown, in others plain red. The thing is, brown = symbol red and vice versa. Just like how black = symbol for blue and vice versa. It depends on how they want to represent a character. You can notice Adol's "brown" hair color in it is different from an actual brown-haired person's, as one can see in the artwork showing Adol in bed and Slaghf's father, the doctor in Barbado.
By the way, about the red/brown and blue/black thing I mentioned, look at Roy and Marth from Fire Emblem in their games, then look at them in Super Smash Bros. Melee. This happens a lot.
Anyway, there are some parts of the pre-story that I'm sure that I have never heard of. I wish it would be eventually translated... It's respectfully big in size. Very cool that Falcom did this. I assume a lot of it was to be included, and a lot we know about Ys I could have turned out different waaaaay early in development. The unused tracks, change in sprites and names of equipment, beta screenshots showing never-seen areas... The 2 different speeches for Dark Fact at the end that we discovered... Ys I is shrouded in mystery.
