I have a question about this art book. I recently picked it up at Anime Weekend Atlanta and I was wondering if the poster thing at the beginning of the book that is just a poster of the cover is meant to be taken out of the book to be used as an actual poster or if it's just a poster thing to make the book look nicer. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I don't want to ruin the book if the poster is meant to stay in the book.

I suspect (at the risk of sounding rude) that the cover art may have been done by an artist commissioned by Udon, or a fan piece. I know Falcom love to include many bonuses in their products, so perhaps they decided to show off the art of someone special? There is no credit for the cover.

The cover is definitely not original commissioned artwork. Here's the cover of the Japanese version of the book: i.imgur.com/Jljk8Vih.jpgThis is the same as the US cover as far as I'm aware, and I think this is the same artist that did Ys Origin, and Ark of Napishtim. He was also responsible for the artwork for Ys Online and the new artwork for the DS versions of Ys I and II. Also, I don't have the US release of the book, but if the poster is the same to the Japanese release, then it's similar to the cover of the book, just with different in coloring saturation in different places: i.imgur.com/zAQTr06h.jpg

Maybe it's the artist who did covers for Legend of Illustrations.
