Well now. Who knew I would get whisked away to a faraway land, on unknown winds? Either way, such is the way of the world; and of fate. It's been ages since I was last around these parts...
Many things have changed, and I now return with a wealth of new wisdom, experiences, and skills. I do hope you've all been doing rather well; and that things here are as lively as ever!
We all sit upon the edge of a new Ys entry. During this time, it seems that the gaming industry has taken another evolutionary turn; and those who once held power now find themselves contending with masters in their arts. A change of guard is coming, and I think we'll all be ready (and can stand to gain) from these changes.
During my extended leave of absence, I've been incredibly busy lending my support to Koji Igarashi and his crew, regarding "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night". I've also been overseeing and operating a community network page for Castlevania (the largest in social media), been hard at work forming established contacts with known actors, directors, and creative talents; and I've turned over a new page... as a page. HA!
Regardless, it is wonderful to see you all again!

Welcome back Ghaleon! Seems like you've been working on some great projects. -Thomas Thomas! What a pleasure to see you again! Yes indeed I have. In fact, things have been very busy. There's still a lot to be done, and we've only laid out the groundwork. Goals that were set and schedules that were established have all been tossed into disarray due to the overwhelming support of fans. While the developers will be mostly shouldering the workload from here, we still need to carry the torch! How have you been? Any new projects as of late?

Hi Ghaleon. I'm sure that you all definitely have your hands full with Bloodstained and I'm also very much looking forward to the game. I wasn't a backer as money was a bit tight during the kickstarter campaign, but I definitely plan to get a physical copy once it is available. Don't underestimate the importance of PR and news updates. They can sometimes be just as important as the development of the game, especially if it appears that the game will take longer than first imagined. For example, with Shantae Half Genie Hero, (which I'm very much looking forward to) they got stuck in a bind where the Kickstarter page cannot have it's original intended release date changed once the Kickstarter has ended, and it's been several years since that project was first started. While I'm okay with the delay because I know it's going to be a fantastic game, I know of at least one other friend who is disappointed in the delay and considers their lack of news updates to be a bad PR move. It's stuff like this that might turn someone off for a next Kickstarter if there is one I think. The only projects I've been involved with recently is that I do the maintenance for a new startup romhacking and fan translation community called Heroes of Legend with the goal of translating many Falcom titles into English as well as other cool games that would benefit to have to have English versions. We're also growing the community and our knowledge-base about romhacking. -Thomas

Oooh! You were part of a kickstarter, Ghaleon? I'll have to check out your works soon. I've been juggling Faxanadu (and its various hacks) with real life (wife, two kids, dog, part time job, travel) and projects of my own. I'm not even sure how to publish information or handle copywrite for my "secret project". I've published music for my project, but that's it for now. I also have a new computer I'm transitioning to, with some useful new tools for my projects. I don't want to keep it secret forever, but I also don't want someone else to beat me to the punch (although a love letter to classic gaming, there is still plenty of fresh material) with regards to my project style, etc. Do you have any helpful tips with regard to PR, etc.?

I'm also looking forward to Shantae, and if you still like; you can back Bloodstained via the slacker backer, and I'll link that below. You can still get all the cool backer stuff! www.fangamer.com/a/kindling/bloodstainedAnd yes, I quite agree. PR and outreach are the heart of project success. Without the fans support, no project can be successful!

Dude, all you had to say was SotN spiritual successor. Oh, and Virt. I don't know how soon I can back this, but I appreciate the slacker backer option.
