NiGHTS was pretty enough for a Saturn 3D game, but it just wasn't engaging. What you think of the game in general is of course valid... since it is merely personal opinions... but to be honest, the 3D-engine used in Nights is really dated, even for a Saturn game. The ideas behind the graphics are there to be found, so with a little bit of imagination the concept of estethics of the graphics look beautiful, but the realization of the concept is awful. If just the game had been released a tad later on the Saturn it could have looked so much better... and it is a shame, because according to me the game in itself is lovely... it's to me about the feel of flying and the awesome controls together with the nice soundtrack creating a unity which I can't dislike. Yuji Naka who created the game has supposedly said that the only thing he would see possible to make 'better' if a remake was to be done was to update the graphics... which also is said to be the reason why he isn't involved in Nights 2 for the Wii. It is a shame that the Saturn had to be that hard for developers to grasp... often they only made use of the main processor, not bothering about making use of the power the machine actually held if all the processors were used in an optimal way. While some of the 3D-aspects of the machine were less impressive than the Playstations aspects (lack of an easy way of implenting transparency effects, no hardware based dithering on the gaphics), some were better... and while looking at THIS movie it isn't that hard to realise that the 3D-engine used in Nights could have been way much better than it ended up...

Well, it looks like everyone is saying it's official now. Famitsu reported on Sega's announcement, with logo and art. Ahh... how wonderful it is to see a new game in a series that hasn't been touched for over a decade... now if only it could happen with the many series I want more of

hhhmmm... I don't.... think so...
maybe Parasite Eve 3, Mischief Makers 2, Super Adventure Island III, Strider 3, Virtual On, MotW 2, River City Ransom 3, Project Justice 3, Power Stones 3, Mega Man Legends 3. They may not be as old, but they still feel like they've been left in the dust for much too long.
but I'm sure Kid Icarus is more likely to get it's sequel than any of the games I mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised. Especially because he'll be in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Now that NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams has finally been confirmed, more info has started dribble from SEGA's lips, including the rather exciting news that the game uses the Wii's Forecast Channel to change in-game scenery according to real-world seasons.
Courtesy of SEGA Europe's official website, several new gameplay details have also been revealed. Firstly, NiGHTS Wii features three collectible 'Persona' masks accessible over its seven environments, enabling players to morph into different forms. For instance, the Dragon mask turns NiGHTS into a - yes - dragon, making him resistant to wind. There's a Dolphin mask granting the ability to swim and a Rocket mask for movement at high speed.
Alongside that Forecast Channel integration, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is set to enable friends to exchange unspecified items with one another using Wii Connect 24.hopefully it runs at 60 frames I like the idea of finally doing something more with the forecast channel, or any channel in general. I always had a feeling it'd be incorporated into a game sooner or later, it's the Nintendo thing to do

I like the idea of finally doing something more with the forecast channel, or any channel in general. I can only imagine a Tom Clancy game based around who the "enemy of the day" is in the News Channel.

Thread revived to remind people of the game's existence now it's out in Japan, apparently. Shame I decided my Wii would be a christmas present and as such can't play it yet though
