Well the image is obviously the character from Nights... But what does it all mean? A VC or an actual Wii exclusive updated version of Nights Into Dreams? Either way it'll be interesting as Nights was a fantastic game. I'm kinda hoping it'll be a brand new game but tough to tell at this point.

Ugh.. the original version would just be cruel to hype like that. On one hand.. more people get to play it, on the other hand, a NEW NiGHTS made for the Wii (which Naka said was a "perfect" match) is too yummy to be let down (again and again).

Man, there's been hints of a new NiGHTS for years but I just KNOW that the ones for Wii are gonna come true! this is AWESOME. I've only played NiGHTS for 5 minutes at a kiosk back when it first came out on Saturn, and i've wanted to play it again ever since. I cant wait for this. I can tell you it wont be a VC port, it'll definitely be a new game (otherwise they would have announced support for Saturn on the VC by now). I hope it'll have a port of the original in it too.
Sega might finally be getting it's act together. I can't wait to see if there's also a Virtual On or some arcade light gun shooters coming out for Wii down the road.

Sega has a LONG, LONG (almost unobtainable) way to go to right itself. And to be honest, if this NiGHTS game ends up being real I think it's being developed by Yuji Naka's new independent studio.. at least I remember reading something to that effect. It'd be like Astro Boy GBA, a great game that only has Sega's name on it as a publisher.

Hopefully if it's real, it really does live up to it's hype and potential. Personally, all Sega needs to do for me to care for them again is make another F-zero, a good console Virtual On, a console port of After Burner Climax, and a true Super Monkey Ball 3 for Wii. F-zero GX, Initial D arcade, and SMB2 had totally made me love the company last generation as those are some of the very best arcade games I've ever played.

How about a new Sonic that doesn't suck? More Shenmue? Am I asking for too much? Yeah, probably... I never understood the Nights fanaticism, and this is from someone who owned a Saturn long before having an N64 or a PS1. It's a fun game for what it is... but it's not something I could play for hours on end, or even something I care to revisit much, with the exception of Christmas Nights around the holidays every year. I really don't find it that engaging, and honestly, I think a lot of the talking up it gets is from people who never had a Saturn in those days, or still don't. The number of overhyped Saturn titles is absolutely staggering. a console port of After Burner Climax I question how much I'd enjoy this. I can't tell if I really like the game for what it is, or if I like being in that awesome moving chair while the speakers are blaring at me. Regardless, it's a fantastic arcade experience, one I thought I was going to miss out on, and would recommend giving it a shot to anyone at least once.

A new Nights would be nice. Let's also hope Sega gets what Nintendo was trying to do when they made you ride that black bird-thing to Zora's domain in Twilight Princess.

Many had related that part of Zelda to Panzer Dragoon, actually, which is another Sega series people want to see more of (i've never had the chance to try it, so I'd love to finally play one). How about a new Sonic that doesn't suck? More Shenmue? Am I asking for too much? Yeah, probably... Yeah, I bet Shenmue would be a big one for many people. As for a good sonic, I've heard that Sonic Rush and Sonic for Wii fit the bill for many people (not for being awesome, but for at least not sucking), although those games weren't even developed by Sonic Team. I've never really cared for sonic, personally. EDIT: Did anyone play the original Alien Syndrome? I haven't... but apparently Sega's making a new one for Wii. Mayeb Sega really is bringing back old franchises. What's next? A new Space Harrier?

Coming from one of the biggest Panzer Dragoon fans here I would completely agree with that statement. I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who noticed that similarity in Zelda: Twilight Princess. Anyhow, if you enjoy shooters Inochi (I know you were sporting a Ikaruga avatar for awhile) then you'll most likely really enjoy the Panzer Dragoon series as it is the definitive rail shooter. The third game, Panzer Dragoon Saga is an RPG with aerial shooting/dodging elements and ground exploration which is still my second favorite RPG/Game to this day. And Orta on Xbox, well that's just icing on the cake in terms of beautiful environments and character models.

hehe... well, actualy... that wasn't me who was supporting an Ikaruga icon. I remember that someone here did for a while, but it wasn't me. But yeah, I love arcade shooters like hell. Ikaruga, Star Fox, all of it. I've never actually owned a Sega console, so I missed out on a lot of great Sega titles like Panzer, NiGHTS and Virtua On (but I did play that last one a lot in the Arcades).

Oddly enough, I thought Sega's last huzzah was on the OG Xbox. Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Gunvalkyire, Otogi 1 & 2 and Outrun 2 were an onslaught of effing amazing games. After that they just went to hell and they went there guns blazing. Breaking up Simlebit was a SIN I tell you, A SIN! I think that was because of the Sammy merger too, ugh.

NiGHTS finally returns!!Is it just me or does that cover look fake? Has anyone seen that kind of NiGHTS artwork anywhere else before (i wouldn't know, so...)? And damn it for being the April issue! /endless_skepticism edit: it IS a real gaming mag... it's just Swedish. Also, now there seems to be two separate magazines reporting on it (the other being ONM) also, i saw elsewhere that the Shadow the Hedgehog team is behind it

That's my favorite magazine and the cover's not fake. They haven't been joking before from what I know. The magazine's free and can be downloaded in PDF form from their website. It comes out april 10. I can check it out and maybe translate whatever's in there when it's out.

No, you're not the only one. Everyone's been saying that Sonic Team has hit a new low with it's last few games. And that the best 3D Sonic game, which is good but still not great, isn't even made by them (the one for Wii). Personally, I could never even get into the 2D sonic series.
I've only heard that NiGHTS 2 being helmed by Sonic Team is only a rumor so far. Hopefully it turns out great regardless. It's on my radar, but I'm not anticipating it more than a lot of other games (It's from Sega, I've gotta be skeptical). I've never really played NiGHTS before, but I'm interested in playing it, despite people who have played it having mixed opinions about it. I remember that what I did play of it was fun enough, and what I've read about it sounds fun too (even the on-rails part of it, which I always tend to enjoy).
Personally, anything I've ever liked from Sega seems to be from Amusement Vision (F-Zero, Monkey Ball), never Sonic Team. I don't which team did Virtua On, though.

You have a rather wide idea of generic, I suppose; I found the whole SP balancing thing fairly unique and an interesting challenge. The characters, honestly, were a breath of fresh air when everyone else was making Emo-Squalls. As for the encounter rate: yeah it was pretty nuts.

Skies of Arcadia, you backwards harlots =[ That's by Overworks, Sega AM7. We were discussing Sonic Team. and I haven't played Skies, but I've only heard good things from the few people who have (Deuce is the first I've seen being negative about it). It's either touted as a good or amazing game, and something different for those who are sick of "typical" RPGs. Can't say anything about the characters, though.
