I was checking out ocremix yesterday and noticed that someone had uploaded a very high quality rip of the Kingdom Hearts III teaser trailer that is awarded to the player after the many achievements of mastering every small detail of the currently Japanese only version of Kingdom Hearts II - Final Mix. Apparently the game also was released with a graphically updated version of the GBA Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which is probably the finest GBA game of all time in my personal humble opinion. I even wrote a very lengthy story analysis guide over at gamefaqs on it. Anyhow, after seeing the first trailer of KHIII from the original Kingdom Hearts II, it didn't seem to really catch my interest all that much. However.... Now after seeing this, I can now honestly say that I really, really want to play this game. KHIII Trailer -SkyeWelse

Apparently so. : ) Which is good news to hear since I'm a huge KH fan. Though at first I had my doubts about it since I was displeased with the overal ending of KH II and secret KHIII trailer unlocked after doing so much in KHII looked so out of place of the KH world and character design. It really threw me off as it simply showed three armoured batman looking keyblade bearers with no explanation as to what or who they were aside from the types of keyblades they pick up and left it up to your imagination as to what the game would be about.
I think this video clarifies a bit more as to what we can expect out of KHIII, something huge and something very epic. I catch something new everytime I watch the trailer and it becomes more impressive each time I see it.
If I can only live long enough to one day be able to play in-game graphic battles in the likeness of this cgi battle sequence, I'll be one happy and old crusty man with artheritis, or even better, robot hand parts! : )
By the way, the villian strikes an uncanny resemblance to Olaf of the Series of Unfortunate Events. But at least he looks creepy enough and experienced enough in the ways of being an evil badass. They could have done worse for sure, like the main villain of KHII for example.

Will it be for PS3 or PS2? Probably not PS2.

PS3, I hope. Then I'd have another excuse to not buy it.

I don't know for sure, but with Kingdom Hearts being a pretty mainstream release, I'd bet that it will be for PS3 as a means of enticing more people to purchase the console. That makes sense to to me as Kingdom Hearts II greatly surpassed the original in terms of graphical achievement and gameplay/battle aspects/special effects. It wouldn't make sense to release it on PS2 and I'm guessing that the game is only partially developed at this point with possibly at least another year before Japanese release maybe more. By then I'm hoping Sony will have developed a better plan for the sales of their console as for right now I think most gamers see it as being far too expensive an investment. But KHIII would definitely be a title that would sway me to think about purchasing a PS3, just as Zelda Twilight Princess was too much pressure for me not to purchase a Wii. I'm sure that if news of a new Panzer Dragoon game being released for Xbox 360 surfaced, that would be enough of a reason for me to invest in getting that system as well. I think it's all about the favortie games I like personally as to whether or not a system interests me.

just as Zelda Twilight Princess was too much pressure for me not to purchase a Wii. Funny, I have Twilight Princess, yet no Wii... where was the pressure? Hehe, so do I, and I think the Gamecube game is much better than the Wii version.

The "pressure" would have been from the initial launch factor of the Wii and getting the Wii version of Zelda in the first week of release rather than waiting or the Game Cube release to come out. I guess now that both of them are out and readily available, that pressure statement doesn't make much sense given the time difference.
I have heard that many other Game Cube Twilight Princess players prefer the classic style of analog/button control. I'm curious to know what your reasons are in saying that the Game Cube version is an improvement upon the Wii version. Of course in my experience with the Wii version of Twilight Princess, I found it easy to adapt to the Wii remote control scheme and found it quite fun and amazingly unique unlike any other game experience before and didn't really mind the learning to use the Wii remote to swing the sword.
I have heard that the maps for the two Zelda's are reversed or something to that effect. Is that true?

Yes, the Wii version is mirrored from the GC version.
I have the Wii version, but I do wish I could have the camera controls and better HUD that the GC version has. Still, I would not compromise Wii controls (I absolutely love Wii control) and 16:9 + 480p for it. I wish I had my component cables for when I played through the game so that the crappy HUD wouldn't have been a problem for me (thanks to wide screen).

How long was TP delayed for GC in NA anyway? It got released two weeks after the Wii release here, or one week. I don't remember. It wasn't exactly hard to wait. I was busy looking forward to Ys Origin (which I practically didn't play when it actually did get released, TP had me hooked).

I was kinda disappointed with TP, but thankfully that wasn't even half the reason I wanted a Wii. I did really enjoy the Wii controls, though... It would have been even more stale feeling, otherwise. And there's no doubting that Wii's version is the best version of TP, unless you have some strange dislike for progressive scan, wide screen, or the Wii's concept in general... but then again, nothing is really strange to this board, is it? I haven't played Okami, but what I've heard from those who have played both is that Okami is nowhere near as "polished" of a game. Once I get the chance, I'll give Okami another shot, but It didn't seem like anything special from the demo I played. I'll give it kudos for being something fresh, but it does have a lot to thank the Zelda series for. And I'm a little surprised that certain people on this board in particular aren't yet considering the Wii simply because Suda51, Kojima, and Square-Enix are giving it strong, original support.

There's no doubt the GC version is the superior one (just copying and pasting here ). The ability to rotate the camera alone made the GC version the one and only choice for me. That, right there is what makes it superior. I can not play a 3d game without the ability to rotate the camera as I do it all the time. I don't care about 480p or widescreen, I have a standard 4 by 3 TV and I'm not going to get another one. I wouldn't want to play 480p games on an HDTV either. I play 3d console games with analog sticks or I don't play them at all. As for the Wii itself... well, I might buy one next year when you can get it for $20. PS: Death Mountain is to the east, not the west.

yeah, I know the original GC map is a little more like the fan-favorite OoT's map... Camera controls would have been nice, I know... but honestly I got used to not using them in the Wii version. I don't know how they'd fit it into the control scheme properly either. In Wind Waker, I used the camera control to scope out the art, environment, oceans while sailing, and surroundings in dungeons. I loved to use it in WW... but I probably wouldn't care for it as much in TP, really (I didn't find the environments and art as nice as Wind Waker's). and you play Zelda on Wii with an analogue stick too, what's the difference in that?
