www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nSFLIvN5WcThis looks totally sweet. If nothing else, it looks like Bethsada has the general feel of Fallout down pat. Of course, the glittering gems of hatred (aka: The Fallout Fandom), are trying very hard to find flaws in it. But as for me, who is enough of a fan not to be bitter, this looks very pleasing. I love Fallout's style of Power Armor, in general, so much, as well.

I wish it provided an indication as to how it plays.

Ditto. I have never ( ) played any of the Fallout games, so after I saw that trailer I had to Google around for them to figure out what kind of games they even are. I'm not trying to bash Bethesda too hard -- they put together an awesome cinematic, but I guess they assumed we all already knew the series. (Perhaps everyone else does -- maybe the shame should be on me.)

I suspect most people interested in Fallout are people who have been interested in Fallout for a long time.
In short: Fallout is the closest thing I've seen in a real RPG in video games. It's also got one of the most distinctive Post Apocalyptic settings ever, and is simply made of win.

Fallout's something of a spiritual successor to Wasteland. I've never played the former, but the Fallout series is quite solid. Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics.
I love Bethsoft (despite Oblivion's butchery and half-assedness), but I'm not so sure that they'll pull this one off. Cautiously optimistic, for now.

Mejilan's identification of the entire Fallout Series is very wise, and don't you let anyone tell you different.
Personally, this trailer gives me a lot of hope that Bethsada has the right idea, at least as far as plot and setting go. Basic gameplay, I am certain they can do as well. Unlike many of the glittering gems of hatred that composes the Fallout Fandom, I won't mind some basic changes to the execution, as long as the basics are there: IE: I want to charisma whore my way out of trouble.
It'd be keen if they kept the SPECIAL system, though.
