Man, it's been a long time since I last posted in any of the forums here. X_X This is what happens when your love from Ys migrates to something else!
Have no fear though! I still love my Ys! I babble about that elsewhere though.
Anyway! DJMax Portable! Does anyone else play this game? :O That's all I want to know. ^^;

I have both of them for the PSP! They're great games. 2 even has a neat link up system if you own the original. Allows you to play songs from 1 within 2!

No not really. Havn't really bothered with getting a PSP but probably will next year or so. I do play seven key on the ordinary DJmax though.

It's an import PSP game. Ever play BeatMania? It's kinda like that, only a little more simplistic, and it somehow looks like it's a lot more fun (which is odd, since it doesn't look all that much different, and I HATE BeatMania, but I actually think DJ Max Portable looks like it might be worth picking up...). But why the hate? TT I've only played Hiphopmania before and unless Beatmania is extremely difference, the only major different I can see between it and DJMax Portable is that you don't have a little turntable thing. But, well, there are some songs that require you to spin the analog stick ...

The only version of Beatmania released officially in the US sucked ass. Crap song selection and nonexistent difficulty balance. Seriously, it wsa only worth getting for the turnstyle peripheral, in anticipation of future (and better) Beatmania releases. But, unless I missed my guess, the game bombed so hard, that another localized Beatmania is... unlikely.
DJ Max Portable, on the other hand, is GREAT! 1 had an "international" re-release that not only made it more import friendly for English-speaking westerners, but also included a new song over the original release. 2, on the other hand, has KR, JP, and EN options built right in!

I spotted that on Play-Asia! I didn't even know it existed before I bought the original Korean release. :( I wish I got it instead but it was probably OOS by then. The LE for DJMax Portable 2 looks so nice. I'm kind of tempted to it get since I love a lot of the artwork for DJMax Portable! (I take it the second game has a lot of the same artists doodling for it.) However, I'm probably going to focus my attention on getting the Taiko no Tatsujin PSP and DS games for now. I'm, uh, sampling the 2nd PSP game right now and it is so much fun. ^_^; I lurves my PSP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TT!!!

I've always considered BeatMania to be a poor man's Pop 'n' Music, since Pop 'n' Music is basically the same exact thing, but INFINITELY BETTER IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY. (: I gotta try this Pop'n Music one day! I've seen bajillion fan art for the series on JP Web sites (back in the day when most of them weren't password protected >_>)! I wonder if I could, uh, sample those games on the PSP too ... And man, the second Taiko game has so much awesome retro (Moskau! Moskau! *German German German German German German German* Ho ho ho ho ho HEY!) and classical music. I downloaded some more from the official Web site recently too. XD What I found sort of funny was that 3 of the J-Pop tunes were also in Ouendan 2. :OOO I guess they were popular back then and the iNIS & Nintendo folks decided to shove them in their game too. Sadly, I don't like those particular songs that much. :B

Pop'n Music is awesome. No release for the PSP, though, to my knowledge... and I'm not sure how you could possibly play it on a PSP, given the large number of colored bubble buttons needed... but there may be a way to adapt it, I suppose. (: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. But wait, this one FAQ says you can play it with a regular PS controller! HIRM!!!!!! *goes to look for the games and spots them* :DD
