So far I'm digging it. I especially like the music and I'm glad it game with the sound track. I'm not especially far, since my little sister took over my ps2 once she realized I had the game. Aside from Seldane, as I'm sure he doesn't like it or won't , has anyone else played it?

Unusual, Wyrdy? Why, it's a roguelike!
I'm just a step further than Sideshow, and my TV doesn't want to turn on anymore =[

I've only sold stuff to the police station. So far just from exploring, I've found the same gear, so while it may give a slight edge when entering near areas, it certainly hasn't held me up any by not having it.

Thanks for the tip, I wont waste any of my money buying from the shop. So I take it everything the shop sells can be found at battle?

Big shadows never have weaknesses. So if you're looking for Knockdown attacks, keep Rebellion and Revolution around to abuse crits.
Really, as long as you aren't lazy about your exploring and levelling, you'll be fine. Just keep a healer and some revival beads.
Edit: Also, not buying from the police station is a dumb idea. The best it sells very quickly outstrips the stuff you find in Tartarus or get from the Sword Cards. Some of the things that Elizabeth gives as prizes, though, are very worthy. Get her joke weapons ASAP, they are very good when they're first available and will last through a couple upgrades.

The police shop may have upgrades, but if you're leveling at a decent pace, your gear should never be that far behind that it is hindering your pace. I've only bought two items from the police station since it was introduced. Between the weapon cards and chests, my gear has always been pretty close on par with what is available at the shop. When the shop upgrades, the gear is always better then what I have, but two or three runs through tartarus has always been sufficient for gearing my characters, since the chest drops seem to upgrade when you reach a new block like the shop does. Since each block is capped off, I've yet to see a boss fight that beat me due to my gear, it was always due to tactics. So while it is useful, it definitely isn't necessary. All my funds so far have for the most part been spent on working on the characters skills and persona summoning. I only have 31% so far :/ I'm only the floor 98 boss at the moment, who is being rather stubborn ~Slayne

That'd be because you're not at optimal. ^_~
Really, if you wanna be cheap, just get the shoes they sell. Extra evade is priceless. But overall, if you're not decking yourself out the best you can, you're just punching your efficiency in the face. Fights last longer (unless you're going by pure magic), so you get tired more easily. You don't evade as well and take more damage. Really, it just means you'll have to play brinkmanship more and more with getting to the top, and things getting lucky crits. With good weapons, you can even conserve a lot of SP, because your physical attacks are enough to do it; especially when you wanna level a certain persona.
In short, the dungeon stuff is just trash in comparison, and is mostly there to be resold.
Chilling on floor 169 or 170, myself.

I had to buy new shoes for the current floor plan, as I just reached 122. Otherwise, my current chest and weapon are better then what the shop has available at this time. Yukari and the main are my best equipped characters, with all the others getting hand me downs. Each of them has the second best chest available at the shop and weapons that are on par or better then the shop.
But my shoes suck.
Don't know, but while looking for the 5x items quest mobs for each block I've always gotten good gear on par or better then the shop. I do buy whatever is on the Sunday Shopping Network simply because of the abundance of cash I have right now from not resummoning tons of persona or having to buy gear.
I squished the Sept Moon boss; was nearly tempted to stop playing because of how easy the last few floors and two bosses have been. I just hit level 39 after defeating the boss on 122. I only spend 2-3 nights out of the 30 in Tartarus.
Still trying to find a couple of the S.Links. I don't have like, 6 or 7 of 'em. Think part is due to my focusing so much on the charm/courage/academics stats before s.links, so I only have two maxed and 3 or 4 at 5+. We'll see, not aiming for 100% on this go through, though I'd like to get most of it.
On another note, just thought I'd mention that tactics > everything. Try and help determine what a character will do makes fights to exceptionally quick. My average fight in the 120 block is two rounds.
How long does it typically take your characters to get tired? I normally do two 10 floor runs killing everything and not get tired before I just leave for the night.
Any particular persona you've been favoring? Minus the stock null elemental ones I keep for certain fights, I've been using Pale Rider since level 25 or 26. I managed to make him with Death, Group Death, Dodge Slash, Group Fire/Lightning, Single target Garula(sp), Counter and Survive Light. He's a friggin monster with melee and is pretty decent for casting.

My present monster is Loki. He's got Agidyne, Bufudyne, Ziodyne, and Garudyne. I call him the Stoplight. But for the most part, I tend not to stick too long for any one Persona; once I can fuse them into something better or something I don't have. Generally as long as I can hit at least three of the four main elements, and have a healer, a mudo guy and a hama guy, I am happy. Null Elements are nice, though.
And you're getting very lucky with your finds, then. Everything I find is about a step or three behind Kurosawa's latest.
As for tactics, I fully agree. I tend to one-round things, myself. Even before I got my hands on The Stoplight.
