With today's PS3 firmware 2.10 update and PSP firmware 3.80 update, Sony has secretly updated the Remote Play functionality to allow playing of all PSone downloadable games AS WELL AS PS1 ORIGINAL DISCS! Straight to the source on the Playstation Forums. This is really interesting tech news!Source of doom

I have about 5 PS1's, none of them work all that great, so I usually use my PS2 for PS1 games. But, it'd be great, to be able to rip PS1/2 games to the hard drive of the PS3, & play them from there, so that you don't have to mess with putting in discs, not to mention quicker load times.

Now if only the PSP could play PS2 games. :O But maybe by the time the PS2s finally disappear from the market, we'll have a handheld capable of playing them! :D

It will, the PSP's ultimate goal is to play anything that shows up on the PS3 via video stream.
