Wild Arms rules. The first game. The other ones, not so much. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MQRL7xws7wSomeone's top 100 best video game music list. Wild Arms town music is in #1. He's right. Also: have you played it? If not - do it.

I haven't been able to enjoy the other Wild Arms games (aside from the WA1 remake - Alter Code F). I have never seen the WA anime. Is it adventureish like the Ys one? Seems kinda interesting.

Big fan of the series, but I've only completed the first one. I am so close to finishing the second, which I think is excellent. The soundtrack to Wild Arms 2 really inspires me like the first one, I used to run listening to it all the time. I have started 3, 4, and Altercode: F, but my progress in them is minimal. I own the soundtracks to all of them.
I agree that the village music there in that clip is fantastic. When that music was remade for Altercode: F, it was good, but not as appealing to me. At least they finally released the complete OST to the original. The original Wild Arms brings me back to a time when even though I was working and going to school I used to tear through RPGs in a matter of days. I really miss being able to do that.

It sounds kind of fun still. I would try to watch it if I knew where to find it. The battle system in WA5 is similiar to the one in WA4, isn't it? I pretty much gave up on WA4 right after the first battle (which took like five minutes or something). I prefer short, few and simple battles, as I prefer walking around exploring, rather than fighting. That's the problem with WA1....the battles are kind of slow, but at least kind of fun anyway.

I've beaten the 1st one, & am working on Alter Code F, which I'm close to beating. But, I think I like the original better. I hate having camera angles to juggle around, especially in one forest area, where trees keep getting in the way. And the battles seem to take longer in Alter Code F, which, I hate long battles. I played a bunch of 2, but I'm still on teh 2nd disc, & it's been years since I played it, once again, the camera annoys me, since it was the first 3D one in the series. I can't remember where I am in the game, I hope when I start it up again, I'm not lost. The music is great though, as with all the games. I don't think it's Michiko Naruke is cool, & an inspiration to me musically, not that I could ever be anywhere near as talented as her The 3rd one seems better then the 2nd, I played thru a little bit of it so far, & plan to play thru the rest, after I finished Alter Code F. The 4th one seems really cool, & I don't mind the hex system, though, I prefer the old school battles more. IIRC, the camera angles aren't a problem, atleast, not in the begining of the game. 5 seems cool as well, though, I've played even less of it, then 4. XF hasn't been released in the States yet, so, I can't give an opinion. But, I'm not all too fond of Tactics type games. I used to love Vandal Hearts, but, sometime after Final Fantasy Tactics came out, I got to the point where I really didn't like these game too much. Though, I did enjoy Shining Force CD, which is probably considered the same kind of game. Maybe it's the 3D map that annoys me. As for the anime, I have it, but havn't watched it. I think I'll enjoy it, but, there's alot of hate for it. Most people think it's crap, so, be careful not getting too excited over it, you might end up being disapointed.

Wild ARMs is probably the most beautiful game I've ever played. I love the world, the music, the story etc. The other games in the series are fine, but nothing compared to the first!

I love WA1 and 2. I finished them many times (especially the 2nd) I've bought WA3 and I was bored after a few hours. I've never played other WA games.

The theme music of the first game is some of the best VGM I have ever heard besides of course Ys music.

The music from the series in general is quite good. Any soundtrack that heavily features whistling is cool in my book. -Tom Indeed, the games musically do give me inspiration.

To bad whoever made the music for Wild Arms got a little too "inspired" herself when she made that soundtrack. The field music, for example, was stolen completely. I've read she's taken a lot more, too. But this is the only one I'm aware of. Does this sound familiar to you? youtube.com/watch?v=GdNh9f2Wwm0Metallica also likes that song, so they play it as an opening to almost every live concert they do: youtube.com/watch?v=Zm7EeuWnc-8

I've started playing Altered Code F. I cant stand how you have to fight every 4 seconds in the dungeons. I also cant believe this game is a dual layered DVD9. The graphics are very bland. There is no voice work? At least the music is still good. The camera does get annoying and you have to get used to it.

I think it's because of the high resolution videos. Although I downloaded a shrinked ISO, where they had reduced the quality of the videos in order to fit it on a 4,7 GB disc, and they looked fine.

I installed the game to my PS2 hardrive and its about 7.2GIGs. I don't believe the game is in 480P. I don't see any option in the system menu. Nor is the game recorded in pro logic 2, which is a shame cause the music and sound effects are quite pleasant to hear.

I always loved that she rearranged that song, I have the Good, the Bad & the Ugly soundtrack. Good stuff! Yeah, the game is dual layered. I ripped it directly on my PS2, & I got a certain point, where the game no longer worked I think there may have been voice acting in the Japanese game, it seems like I heard there was. The lack of voice acting in this game, does make it someone bland, because of the cinemas, it just feels kind of empty. And yeah, I hate the camera, wait till you to this one forest where all the trees keep getting in your way! One think I do like, is the fact that you can keep getting these things that make it so you never have to fight enemies, since you keep upgrading it as you go thru the game. Whenver you see the ! above you, you can just push a button, & it voids the battle, & it has a meter that gets depleted, but, as I say, you can upgrade it, so that escaping weaker enemies, doesn't delete your Migrate level(I think that's what it's called). Ultimately though, I think I like the original much more, with it's 2D graphics, & the battles seem to be a little faster. I've gotten tired of RPG battles, that have crazy animation, which slows down the level grind. I wish there was an option, to make it so that you can turn off all animation, make the battles end in a minute, that would be nice!
