I'm just wondering how the situation is with the folks around here because in my area, THEY ARE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. Well, as far as I know. :B
But! Just this Friday, I saw an ad in the newspaper from Chrysler or some car company that says that they'll give away a Wii with each car purchase! DDDDDD:
Those fools! Hogging all the Wiis!! But I wonder if anyone would buy a $20,000+ vehicle just for a Wii? :O

Still very hard to get here. I know one department store had 25 Wiis that were set to go on sale today, but for the most part the stores never have any when I go. I'm not ready to buy one yet, but I always check around to see if the shortage has stopped.

Wow, that's really hard to believe. They must be holding back on purpose for some reason. I just checked some of the biggest store chains here and it's fully available in every single town! In fact, they have even dropped the prices.

XD I find it somewhat hard to believe that they WON'T have shipments of Wiis all over North America for the game's launch. Okei, so it's possible that 99% the of folks interested in the game already have a Wii or have access to one but still!!!! I can dream, right? :P In all seriousness, I HAVE a Wii. The issue is that my brother's borrowing it indefinitely and since he moved recently, I have no idea what condition it's in either. :P He actually wanted to buy it from me for Christmas but I said no. :3

Seldane: That's because your nation is in perpetual darkness, so no one trusts the wireless aspect. Also because God hates Europe and you don't get any games at all.
Also, chase your brother with a bat, Nunuu.
Serious Edit: Actually, Seldane, does Europe still get hugely shafted on game releases compared to the US?

Maybe he hates us because we don't belive in him? Haha! B-but everyone is crazy about wireless stuff here! We even have wireless broadband now. Not regular wi-fi, but super-wireless - you can browse the net from deep within the woods or with your head in the clouds from atop a tall mountain (which is convenient, as 99% of the land mass here consists of deep woods and snowy mountains). Anyway, with the game releases... I don't believe that is the case (more or less). Release dates aren't usually THAT late anymore, and most games get released here, unlike say the NES/SNES era, when very few games got released in Europe. A couple of years ago, most small (but still good) titles never came out here, but nowadays there are some newish publishers that focus mainly on such titles, so there have been several interesting releases here the last few years. Games like Rule of Rose, Gurumin PSP and other games have been released here. They also like to release previously Japan-only games (mainly shmups), which is very nice. However, their marketing is absolutely non-existant, so finding out whether or not these games actually exist is hard... and actually BUYING them is even harder! Sometimes, nearly impossible! They are extremely hard to come by. Pretty much the only way to get them is via Ebay. I guess that's where the biggest problem is. Many games get released in Europe these days, but there's no money put into it. Release numbers are probably very small, and the marketing is as mentioned very poor or simply non-existant. Ys VI PS2 and PSP DID get released here, but the PS2 version was delayed by at least six months. It originally had a release date, but it went obsolete when it didn't come out that day... and then didn't get a new date. I had pre-ordered it but cancelled it when it never came out. I imported the North American release instead. It DID get released at some point, but nobody knows when. The same goes for the PSP version. Suddenly it started popping out here and there, but it had no official release date it seems, and it is very very hard to find.

The one thing I hate about European video games is the dreaded 50htz refresh rate on the T.V.'s. Yuuck.

SE does it. And as far as I know, most PS3 and 360 games do not even support 50Hz mode.
And now, in the era of LCD/plasma televisions - there's no such thing as "Hz".

Yes, thats very true that newer T.V.'s support 50/60 hz, but most PAL PS2 games dont support it. Here is a good explanation of the differences: www.fevereon.com/turnto/

Finding a Wii is easy. All EB stores get a shipment in between 11 am to 2 pm. The trick is to go in the daytime...no one can find one because they go after work or school. I just got one from my parents. I got mine from costco.ca .... give em a try, you never know. When SSBB comes out pm me and we can battle if you want..
PS Its nice to be back here!!!

www.bestbuy.ca/marketing/smashbros/EN/default.asp?logon=&langid=ENYou'd think that with the release of Smash Bros Brawl, Nintendo would speed up production of the Wii or at least stock up on 'em in major retailers in major cities. :P Ah, just checked the RedFlagDeals forum and it seems that the Wiis are in stock OFFLINE -- as in, you have to physically go to a store to get one. But still, Best Buy is showing that store stock at the locations around here are out too. Odd.
