Hello! My first post here I've noticed some people had some trouble manually unpacking OiF and VI. I figured i'll write a little essay about it, execryptor isn't all that bloody, atleast not ancient versions if you know what you're doing I also wrote an archive tool, not finished yet though, still lack some features -_-'' I'll post it with sourcecode included when it's completed. I kinda always feel that urge to know how a game ticks One thing i noticed while working out the archive format is that they utilize some obfuscation. Where they do runtime decryption of routines and re-encrypt after they are ran. I don't know if these are artifacts from execryptor, but that would seem very unlikely. I could write a little tool that would "fix" all these encryptions if someone is interested /Legion

I already done it Wrote the encryption stripper this morning Now i have a cleanly stripped and patched exe that runs without trouble I'll have a guide written shortly with sourcecode for the stripper tool. There is a total of 75 encoded functions in vanilla OiF. As you say they might upgrade and run a newer version of execryptor on Origin. It has changed quite a bit from the version they are using, but it's not impossible to break.

Oh, i just dumped it close to OEP and used imprec The newer versions of execryptor destroys imports though -_-'' Where the import will be resolved at calltime, making it a bit more work.

OOPS! The "heh" thing was just me joking with MP83. I've been meaning to remove it, but I keep forgetting about it. I'll fix that right now. Why Deuce was "demoted" has nothing to do with personal grudges or lack of activity, it was just me cleaning out various more or less unused ranks and Deuce was the only one having that particular rank, so I just deleted it. Global Moderator is basically the same thing as he used to be, minus the word filter editing possibilities. Most of the word filters will be removed, by the way. Edit: Fixed. Most of the words have been removed from the filter. Enjoy your swearing, everybody.

Now I can say it! =D) were modified, where "heh" became "idiot". While I was reading a few old topics, I saw lots of posts containing the word "idiot", which could lead to a misunderstanding like happened here. ;DHeheheheh, anyway, it was funny to watch while it kept happening. this proves the S-Spam thread had some utility after all, since I was aware of the "hehs" thanks to it. XD

Really? That's odd! The word filter only applies to posts made AFTER the word was added for me (using Firefox). Another OOPS on my behalf.

*claps hand to forehead* Oh, this will not end well... Look, first off, the "idiot" was uncalled for. Plus, you are talking to the guy behind all the quality hacking work that's allowed people to play multiple Ys games in English in the first place. He knows of what he speaks. Lol, im sorry, i typed hehe -e. It was turned into idiot by your forum script heh heh heh ... Yeah, that's all I have to say about that quality entertainment.

To this, I can only say... "fnord." I agree. Also: Fnord is that funny feeling you get when you reach for the Snickers bar and come back holding a slurpee. Fnord is the blue stripes in the road that never get painted. Fnord is place where those socks vanish off to in the laundry. Fnord is an arcade game like Pacman without the little dots. Fnord is a little pufflike cloud you see at 5pm. Fnord is the empty pages at the end of the book. Fnord is toast without bread. Fnord is a venetian blind without the slats. Fnord is the lint in the navel of the mites that eat the lint in the navel of the mites that eat the lint in Fnord's navel. Fnord is the bucket where they keep the unused serifs for Helvetica. Fnord is the color only blind people can see. Fnord is the the four-leaf clover with a missing leaf. Fnord is the space in between the pixels on your screen. Fnord is the smallest number greater than zero. Fnord lives in the empty space above a decimal point. Fnord is the redundant coin slot on arcade games. Fnord is the founding father of the phrase "founding father". Fnord is the last bit of sand you can't get out of your shoe. Fnord keeps a spare eyebrow in his pocket. Fnord invented the green hubcap. Fnord is why doctors ask you to cough. Fnord uses two bathtubs at once.
