After seeking out Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, I decided to see what other games the PC Engine had to offer and I played Ys IV. After that I played Ys Book I&II.
I want to get Ys I and Ys II Complete for PC, but I don't know if it is a good improvement over the PC Engine version.
Right now I'm planning on playing Mask of the Sun for SFC. Then I will play Ys: Oath of Something. I also plan on watching the OVA sometime.
Overal, I'd say I enjoy the series, but I've only played 2.5 games(I heard Dawn of Ys isn't exactly canonical). Definatly a series worth my free time.

hi welcome aboard, i hope you enjoy your time here. while Ys 4 is not exactly canon, it is also still a very good Ys game and far better then mask of the sun, i think you will enjoy it greatly. Ys 1 and 2 complete is much better then the PC engine version and you should definetly try Oath in Felghana which is a remake of Ys III. all of these games are some of the finest examples of Ys. chris  |

I might play Ys: VI eventually, but I wanted to play it in order. I tried playing Ys V, but the control was a bit weird.

of all the games Ys V is my least favorite. some people are different but i was not able to get into it. Ys 6 for the PC is quite good to.

Isn't Ys VI that Ark of Something for PSP and PS2? Or are you talking about a PC version?
Edit: Good thing I waited until this year to get Dracula X working. Otherwise I would've had to wait another year to play Ys: Oath of Felghana.

there is 3 versions of Ys 6 the ps2, Pc and psp. i have the PC version and it is my favorite of the three. the pc one may soon get the language patch. the ps2 is out in the usa and i am not sure if the psp one is out in the usa yet, (i do not think so).

He he, the PSP version is out in North America since March! It will be released in Europe sometime this month (it COULD be today!).
