Yes indeedy. Outside the tower, where the "whistling corridor" is, hit one of the pillars and the evil melody will dissapear.

Yes, it's the key to getting through the life draining corridor on the 10th floor. Take the left exit from that floor, and on the balcony go left to the second pillar and smack it with the hammer. This is for Ys eternal PC. For the master system version I believe it's the 5th pillar to the right.

call me crazy but when I was playing the PC version... I wanted to see if I was able to go through that corridor without breaking the pillar (I had the hammer). I was able to make it to the middle room where the guy tells you about the evilness in this section. Regenerate and tried to make it the rest of the way but it's WAAAAY too long to get to the exit before you die But it was fun trying

I would never attempt it, unless I had an extra save. Even if it were possible, you will still have to back through there eventually to talk to Luta Gemma. If the old man isn't there, you might be stuck. That's just a theory though, I think breaking the pillar is the trigger to him leaving.

I would never attempt it, unless I had an extra save. Which version did you play? I dont remember the game being saved under # of credits style. I remember that if you die, you start from last save point (very annoying if you forget to save). I think that I saved before going through the corridor... hey, it was a fun experiment. Once you break the pillar with the hammer, the guy thanks you and I think he just leaves. Isn't Luta Gamma on another level?

Ys Eternal gives you 120 save slots. I don't recall if you can have more than one save on nes or sms, but with savestates you can have basically as much as you want.
Luta Gemma is on another floor, you can get to him before going into that corridor. What I meant was that in the unlikely event that you actually made it across the room, you would eventually have to go back through it when you talk to Luta later, and in that case, if you saved, you could get stuck, and be unable to make it back through the corridor.

In the nes version I think I made it through the corridor after using the heal ring in the middle room to regain Hp........ then use a herb .....and made it to the exit.........

For the TG 16 version, go to the 14th floor, and smash the fourth pillar.

I think it's the third one to the left outside the 14th floor or something, I forgot.
