Hi everybody. I have a little problem. I'm currently playing at Ys 1 Complete. I'm stucked at the Dark Fact fight. He's really really fast. The fireballs are so fast that I have a lot of problems to move. He's seems near impossible to beat. I've seem videos on youtube of this boss and the fireBalls are really slower. I think this problem may come from the fact I play this game on a recent computer. Maybe the original speed of the game is affected... This theory seems weird because the rest of the game is playing at a correct speed. What do you think about it? Thanks ;-)

Do you have an Nvidia (Geforce) card? Force Vsync in the Nvidia control panel. Don't remember how do do it with the ATI drivers, but look around for vsync or vertical sync in the Catalyst Control Center. Took a picture of the correct Nvidia setting: img246.imageshack.us/img246/2826/nvidiacpoh4.jpg

Did you equip the silver equipment? I may be wrong, but I think the fireballs will be a lot faster if you are NOT equpping the 3 silver equipment. Intentionally making him impossible to be defeated. In all versions of Ys I, Dark Fact is invincible if you don't face him with the Silver Sword, Silver Armor and the Silver Shield. Don't try to use that Flame Sword or Battle Armor/Shield. The stats may go up, but they can't kill him. I hope I was clear enough. Well, that if that's what you didn't do.

I made the changes with the VSync but with no effects. But after that, I tried to change the hardware acceleration and set it back to then max. And it solved my problem!!! It's weird but good Thanks for your help!

That's a common problem. You can't just rename the wave folder. Nightwolve said he had fixed this issue with the later patches, but he is wrong. You MUST download this old file: nick.arrowsmash.com/downloads/ysc/YsHighReso.cabPut the file contained within in your Ys 1 folder and run it - then change the setting to 22 or 44, which ever you have. After that, it will work.

I just spent 4 days and many many hours troubleshooting this.
I'm not sure if it applies with ATI, but with nVidia, make sure that your primary display driver is the only one installed!!!
If you have the BB Flashback display hook driver installed, uninstall it.
Same goes for the "my video hook driver2" which is used for ultravnc. You don't need it.
