How much does Ys Origin cost after shipping to the US? I looked on Falcom's site and found the price for the game itself (which putting in into some currency calculator roughly came out to $68), but I have no idea what shipping is. I'd like to get the it sometime this year, but jeez it's expensive (especially when you're a college student).

You definitely have to account for shipping costs. I'd have to go back and check my statement, but I think the final bill came out to be around $80 or so. And that's with shipping to the US. Falcom always uses EMS as far as I'm aware. As one college student to another, I can vouch for it being pricy and all... but you know what? It's cheaper than some college textbooks and a heck of a lot more fun. If you really want it, save up and get it.

EMS is 3-6 days delivery, usually more 3-4 than 5-6 days.

Falcom games are never too expensive Well crazyman, I ordered my copy of Ys Origin from Falcom and the shipping cost is 3500 yen. Well that includes a cd and a book too. Thank you for an inquiry of Falcom mail order service. The total price is as follows.
Price (Japanese-yen) 7,000 yen :884 Ys Origin Premium 2,980 yen :M040 Sora no Kiseki Vocal 2,300 yen :B36 Sora no Kiseki Collection Book 3,500 yen :shipping and handling ----------------------------------- 15,780 yen :total |
My previous order of Legend of Heroes 6 only had a shipping of 1800 yen. Also I live in Asia, so the shipping might be more for you. My guess is for a single game to US, the shipping should be under 6000 yen. I'd figure that since all shipping is by air, the costs should be proportional to mileage plus whatever import tax charges your country imposes. I lucked out and got this for a flat $70 from my friend stationed in misawa right now. He had to go to Shibuya to find it at SoftMap but he was there anyways so it wasn't an inconvenience for him. From Himeya or something, I'd say you're looking at $85-90 including shipping. I know, it is rather expensive, but its a damn fine game and I'd say well worth it. Well, since you got a friend in Japan, might as well suck him dry. Tell him to go to Akiba (short for Akihabara) and search the place for cheap Ys games. I've got a friend stationed in Tokyo and as he is a fellow gamer, he knows all the good and cheap places in Akiba. I got the limited editions of Naphishtim and Felghana through him. Second hand prices but in good conditions. Now I am hoping he could find Ys 1 and 2 Perfect Collection .
