In each Ys game, how far can you get without dying? I tried this with Ys Book I & II (which I got off ebay recently) and I made it all the way to Nygtilger before succumbing. Maybe i should have leveled up more. How well can you do in one life?

I've never tried Roguelike-style Ys before. Given I don't know the games too well, I doubt I'd make it past Varguillionionion.
What difficulty setting?

Hmm. I didn't think about that. Choose what you prefer. Think of it this way, the harder the difficulty, the more glory awaiting if you succeed!

No, I mean what difficulty did you go with?

Oh, I tried it on Ys Book I & II for the Turbo, it didn't have a difficulty setting.

Ha, cool idea! I love such challenges! I'm going to try to beat certain Ys Games without dying! XDD Depending from the game it can be either "difficult" or HARD (like Ys I COMPLETE or Ys II COMPLETE in Nightmare mode).
'o.o Cool idea!!

Good luck with that, I could never pass the game without leveling up as much as possible. There are points where you can't even damage the bosses if your level isn't high enough

Glad I'm not the only one who does that sort of thing. Me and my friend call it one life-ing. Never tried it on a Ys game though.
