Only Adol can...
1. get stranded in a cave or locked room and manage to always get rescued in a matter of seconds. Oh look, is that Dogi? Again!?
2. get practically killed by a monster down to 1 HP and low and behold some spirits of some kind, priests, goddesses, etc... will show up and heal him and then all is well.
3. constantly get bugged by Lilia wherever he goes and doesn't get the hint that she wants some action! C'mon Adol, is adventure really better than ...?
4. always be at the right place at the right time.
5. somehow fall hundreds of feet and not get hurt or someone is always there to heal him.
6. set sail on a boat and always manage to crash on the shore of some troubled land and get rescued, then have to save the world again.
I thought I'd make this thread up to get some laughs, add some more!

7. be the ultimate pimp.
8. be the hero, no space for more. The seat is occupied.
9. kill by touching enemies.
10. befriend Goddesses in a very close way.
Surely there's more. =) Great thread.

LOL, I was missing these pictures. XDDD There were more, weren't there? xD I think I remember one near a car...
Anyway:
11. destroy any plot the Romun Empire makes.

12. Encounter rivals anywhere he goes.
That never did occur until after Ys II though.

13. find a treasure chest around every other corner and whatever is inside it just happens to be what he needs at that moment.
14. touch a statue or look in a mirror and magically be transported somewhere.
15. in every adventure, find some some sort of tower to climb.
16. talk to trees.
17. wave a magic wand in turn into a roo.
18. walk through lava and not even get so much as a blister.

4. always be at the right place at the right time. I would think it's the wrong place at the wrong time... since the right place and right time usually means it's a good thing? and he's always at a place with monsters...

hehe... sorry if I'm wrecking any fun here, but I just wanted to bring to light that basically none of these things apply exclusively to Adol. In fact, some of these things listed could be considered gaming cliches.

I agree with you Inochi. xD But I disagree that none of these apply for Adol only, since there're some in which I think only Adol can do/ did. Not sure, but I've never seen any sort of hero get THAT close to a Goddess. And it's incredibly rare to see some guy killing other living beings by touching and bashing at them. Well, there're some stuff. xD Also this thread was supposedly made for a few laughs. I wouldn't think much about it.

CrazyJo: Maybe for Adol, it is the right place? How many fine ladies has he left in the dust so he can go slaughter more monsters? I think he's got a touch of the psychopath in him, myself. Mmmhmmm.

Oh snap! Deuce is correct.
Also: Zalem. And I think that one martial artist chick whose name I have absolutely forgotten.

Karna, wasn't it? But then, it's usually the helpless heroines that seem to dig Adol. It's that whole knight in shining armor thing. Even if his armor is reduced to total junk by the start of each new adventure, which brings me to... Only Adol can acquire incredibly rare and powerful gear during the course of an adventure, only to give it all up and return to using a crappy short sword and flimsy leather without so much as twitching in remorse at the loss.

Adol must like burning his stuff. As for powerful armor like Cleria stuff, he must sell it to some "cheaty" merchant, since he always starts with some money, although not much. o-o Adol is filled with weird characteristics.

It's all taken by customs.

He's an adventurer/traveler/wanderer, first and foremost.. or at least that's what he thinks. So maybe he's thinking he won't need to use any of it again?

You're overthinking. It's all customs. Some Romun noble now has the Cleria set resting on a stand by the family funeral masks, mark my words. And Adol is too honest and law abiding to say no.

All I know is The Dawn of Ys is simply incredible! If Oath in Felghana never came out, it would surely still be my favorite Ys title.
