So I finally finished Ys: Book I. I didn't have to use any guides, except for the location of the trees to get my Silver Sword. I think in total it took me around 6 - 7 hours, played on Normal with around an hour on Easy to get use to the game mechanics.
Really enjoyed it and the story introduction to the second book, which I already started to see if there was any new enhancements over Book I.
I'm probably one of many who took a good 10 minutes to flick the characters around on the bit of string.. also noticed a Magic section in the Equipment which I'm really looking forward to. Assume it's something to do with the Ys books you retrieved in the previous one.
Anyway enough ranting for me, ciao!

always glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys old Ys games for the first time this day & age. hopefully this means many more will love it when it hits Virtual Console. and that sounded more like raving than ranting, which is good. and if you liked Ys I this much, you're really going to love Ys II. (Ninja Edit!)

I prefer pixel games over 3D, maybe because my PC is a load of shit.. Hah, and I only just found out about Ys a few weeks ago.
