Hey guys,
I bought an SNES flash cart and I can play MoTS with the english translation on my US SNES console!! It's awesome! I can play Japan imports too. Anyone else ever do this?

Sorry to bump an old thread (again), but how does one go about getting a SNES Flash Cart? I Googled a bit and couldn't find one. Playing some fan-translated Super Fami games on a real system sounds really cool.

Romancing Saga 3!!!!
Go get it and play it NOW!!!
(Actually I have a nice list of translated stuff for snes that shouldn't be missed)
Oh yeah don't forget Der Langrisser, or Bahamut Lagoon.
Where did you snag the cart from, as I would like to pick one up one of these days.

Never ever ever did it come here.
Bahamut Lagoon Treasure of Rudras Romancing Saga series Seiken Densetsu 3 Live a Live
Aww damn I know I am forgetting a couple games... anyways those are some of the Square titles that were to never hit our shores.

I can understand it cost a ton of money to bring those games over, and when most of those came out it was the end of the Snes. The N64 was coming, and there was to be no distractions, but seriously there is no damn reason they should not have been ported to the GBA.... they would have made a damn killing off some of those games.

Man don't even go into Princess Crown and its Saturn breatheren. I could sit here for hours and cry over how we got ripped off by Sega's mismanagement. The Saturn is something that was severely underused in the states.

It probably takes a lot of code restructuring to make a gba game out of an snes game. It wouldn't surprise me if many companies simply didn't think it was worth it.

Thus is the folly of Man! I never new there was a flash cart for the snes, but if they did it for the nes and other systems, I don't see why not. I would just use a emulator but if it comes to GBA I use a flash card cause the PC screen makes the game look like crap and its slow as hell. Some snes games to GBA didn't go so well, R-type3 had god awful music and dodging invisible bullets is impossible, Link to the past added the annoying voice from the n64, and megaman and bass was very clunky(FF games were somehow tolerable to me since it has more dungeons and fast loading time). The DS would probably be a better fit since it has all the Snes controls and much more! They're also are starting to add Snes game to the ds already like Front Mission and the soon to release Crono Trigger and the Dragon quest games. I thought they were going to make a Seiken Densetsu 3 for the DS but instead got the stupid strategy game. What the hell happened to the Mana Series?

There's only one flash cartridge for SNES, and now it has finally been sold out after many, many, many years. You snoozed, and you lost. tototek.com/He'll probably make new ones in the future though. This is seriously one of the best purchases I've ever made. If not THE best. That flash cartridge RULES!

I saw that site before, and I remember I didn't buy from it because it looked shady. I have lost $$$ on stupid internet ventures before, bah I can make it through Japanese games just fine.

It's not shady. This guy is well known in the scene, and very reliable. He even sent me a replacement for free (including shipping, and it was over a year after the purchase), when I acidentally broke my flash cart writer. That's the best warranty ever. Turns out the cart writer wasn't busted after all though (well it was, but it was an easy fix). So now I have two.

I'd ask you to send me one if I still had my SNES!

It would be nice to have, but there are only a few games I would bother using that on.

Well, I would use for everything, since I'd not be in the mood to track down all the cartridges.

Yeah I still have all mine, and really I would just use it for Japanese games that were translated into english, but there are really only a small handfull, and the money is still not worth it.

I thought so too. In fact, I bought the cartridge almost exclusively for Chrono Trigger and SD3. I mean, even if I could ONLY have played SD3, it would still have been worth it.
But then I discovered more games. TONS of them. There are many more translated games than you can imagine. And they are so cool once you try them for real.
Again, best purchase I've ever made. Probably.
