I was curious to know if anyone here owned the following two Ys books: 1. Ys II Global Guide - miraigamer.net/skyewelse/ys_global_guide.jpg2. Ys Memorial - miraigamer.net/skyewelse/ys_memorial.jpgI wanted to know what kind of content they had and particularly if the Ys Global Guide had something interesting related to Ys geography. One day I'd like to put together a map of sorts for all of Adol's exploits to show his history. Thanks! -Thomas

Hmm, never heard of those books but damn they look interesting...
Anyway if you want a map, there's one in the Ys Perfect Data Collection.
Well I have the book, so if you want pictures of the map, I can try to take pictures of it but scanning is impossible because the book is one huge hardcover book.
But that's only one map that covers most of the Ys world, not the individual maps of places he visited.

Thanks Musa. I appreciate your offer for the map scan. I actually own the Perfect Data Collection, so I've seen that map before. I guess I'm just searching for any extra maps that might exist out there i.e. A needle in a haystack.
Actually, you know. Even though Ys Strategy sucks, I betcha a guide book for that would have a pretty sweet map now that I think about it. : )

Indeed. I never thought about it that way.

Could the Ys Strategy map be considered canonical though?

Is it really that bad?? I was kind of excited for the game, until I figured there wouldn't be an English release.

Ouch, that's pretty bad. Too bad, I remember everyone being pretty excited for its release.

Oh there is an English script?? Ill have to try out the game then. I never knew it made it to Europe. Funny it never came to NA at all??

It's bad in every possible way (except maybe for the soundtrack). Taito's Ys IV and Ys V for PS2 looks like masterpieces compared to this game. I agree, & I'm a very tolerant gamer compared to most, but, Ys Tragedy stinks with exception to the music.

Very cool to hear that you find the book to be worth it at least for the information in there. I may see if I can pick it up sometime then.
And yeah, Ys Strategy... I just can't force myself to play through it. It's really that bad. I completed the first two scenarios and about that time I just put it down and haven't gone back since.
Hmm, I guess as Kimimi stated, even if I were able to get a map from the game, there is a chance it might not be canon. I did check, but I don't think a guidebook to Ys Strategy even exists in Japan, let alone Europe. So unless I could take decent screens from the game itself, I'm kind of at a loss anyway with that.
I've also been searching for possible world maps from Ys Online, but not much luck with that one either.
I've got a thing for game geography, and I've collected maps for the Suikoden world, Panzer Dragoon world, Zelda, Xak, and uh... World of Warcraft... I've a few maps from Ys so far, but I simply gotta catch'em all.

Hmm, well with all the hate going around, anyone willing to sell it so I can give it a go?

Regardless of my hate, I'm keeping mine, I just can't sell it off, though, it'd be the first Ys I did sell, if I ever sold off an Ys game.
