Any idea why my equipment screen shows grey squares in place of the equipment? Is this a known issue of some sort, or maybe did I do something wrong with installing the game and patches? Here's a pic of what I mean You can't tell from this example, but if I click on one of the grey squares, the large square in the bottom next to the description will properly show the item, but the smaller pictures remain grey squares. Other than this issue, the game seems to run okay, but I haven't really played much, since I noticed this problem right away and would like to get to the bottom of it before moving on. For all I know I could encounter other issues later.

WEll I think that the archieve containinggraphics that si the one containing text is corrupted. Maybe you did something worong while installing and updating and patching the game. Tell us which version you have and we will provide detailed informations on how to do. Thanks

This problem already appeared before around here, didn't it?
I didn't read up what had to be done to solve the issue... But if you do some digging in the first page of this Ys VI section, you may just find the topic that may give you a solution.
I'm not sure, but maybe it has to do with what you installed, and in which order. I.e. you shouldn't install Ys_VI_Limited_to_Standard_Edition unofficial patch after installing doppiapunta's patch and the like.

I guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling and see what that does. My PC did crash during the first time I tried installing, but I thought I got rid of everything from that failed install before starting the install again.
Well, I don't want to get in trouble or anything, so I'll just say that in general I never buy a PC game until I'm 100% sure it'll run on my system... And the only way to be 100% sure is to try it first. I just got burned too many times by games that should work that didn't, so now I try before buy. I know some people have a problem with that, but I just can't afford to waste money on games that turn out not to work.
I did look through some topics, but didn't find anything. That's not to say it's not there, just that I couldn't find it if it is.
I installed the game, then the patch from Falcom's site, then the translation patch in that order. Would using the wrong version of the patches cause this problem, or just make it not work at all?

... =___=' seldane.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ysVI&action=display&thread=4066Man, you certainly didn't search hard enough. There's a topic called "White Squares?" exactly where I told you it would be. xDD And yes, apparently, it is related to when and what you installed and such. Perhaps you'll have to reinstall the game? Well, I hope this problem gets solved by now.

Well, I did search the topics, but somehow that title escaped my notice... I don't really know how, about all I can figure is the short title "white squares" was just too simple and I was looking for something more like "graphical glitches in equipment screen". That I think of the squares as grey rather than white didn't help matters, either, but yeah, I shoulda woulda coulda found it. *facepalm* In any event, I did already solve the problem by reinstalling then instead of the patch from Falcom's site I used a different update patch someone posted in the English patch thread. Then after that the translation patch, and now it's working fine. Thanks everyone who tried to help (even if I am a big dummy for not seeing the topic "white squares" first)

You're welcome. xD Surely this will come handy later for others who run across this problem.

This forum can easily be a debug forum for Falcom
