Hi to all! I made this site yesterday so a dude could get the files he needed and I figured it would be cool to make my own site so.... Here it is: worldofys.synthasite.com/I know its not much but its a start and hopefully it will eventually get much much better...I think it would be very cool to host a site that makes it easy to find and download stuff....I would eventually like to add compressed files of several of the games if not all of them that you can find through torrents that are and are not offered through emulation programs....Well if anyone has any advice or suggestions don't be shy!

That site is a nice start. I like its "look". Also, if you end up putting up torrent files, be careful what kind of stuff you upload. xD

I don't think I will actually put torrents on there just for the simple fact that its a hassle to keep torrents up to date...One minute there are 10 seeders the next there or none. You know how that works....All the Ys games I have found so far are torrents and most I found took hours of searching to find the ones that people were still seeding. Soooooo I was thinking of compressing the files of the games and actually hosting them for direct download...The only problem is that I am sure I would eventually have to find a website host that I have to pay for....>The one I started is a free host! Also I wouldn't be able to host direct download to specific games unless I had a cover Im sure.....But like I said its just a start we will see were it goes.

Very nice start There just aren't enough Ys fan pages - I'm kinda tempted to make my own in the spirit of fostering such growth!

I like the start of the site Override as well as the clean look to it all. If I may make a request though, because many of those patches were developed by someone else other than yourself, you might consider putting credits next to each of the patches as to where they came from originally, or simply link to their site. That way, if someone wants to know where the file was originally developed, they can head there from your site. Otherwise, many people might think that you created the patches.
I do see that you have Nightwolve and Deuce listed on the Acknowledgements page but I doub't many visitors will spend the time to visit that page if they are just interested in downloading a patch and learning how to install the games.
Also, the way the credits are worded on the acknowledgement page: "Below is the contact info for the makers of the Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Ys I & II Eternal/Complete" sounds like they created the actual games. : )
Good luck on the site! There definitely needs to be more Ys sites out there!

Minor gripe. On the Downloads You have Ys 1 & 2 Eternal Story listed. That's the PS2 game. Ys I Complete, and Ys 2 Complete are 2 seperate games on PC. Also you only have the Ys II English Patch on there. Ys I has it's own patch.
Why not include emulation? I think it would be cool to see an Ys emulation site that hosts every version of every Ys game. As far as I know, there isn't one. It kinda ties in with what you are doing anyway, since a bunch of the Ys roms have English Translation patches.

Yeah I remember the old download sections. I still have the PMs with the passwords to both of them.

Well I appreciate the comments and all....I really have not done much with the site since...Ill be honest with you I would love to make a site for emulation and all that but It seems that I dont really want to put the time into it right now....I wouldn't mind actually buying a site instead of using a host like yola (what im using). The issue there in lies that I dont want to pay for it. I also dont have the programs needed to make the site and honestly am not to sure of what is needed to make a professional looking site....such as java/flash etc.
As for the acknowledgements and what not I believe if I remember correctly that all the files on the site have a readme file with them that includes all the authors information to the patches.
After I move and get me a desktop built again (using laptop) I will probably get into making a *big* site with all Ys I can find! I would love to get into the translation scene and actually translate my own version of some of the games....It would also be kick ass to port Ys V to the Duo! I hate that the only two ways to play the game on an SNES is to either get an emulator or buy a flash cart and put it on a flash cart.
Maybe when I get done with college (if I decide to go) and after becoming a graphics designer Ill make the best freaking Ys dedicated site out there!
Thanks for all the support! Its much appreciated!
