I picked up a Justice CD a few weeks ago and when I heard the track "Stress," I realized that it was an instant boss-battle hit! So, last weekend I ripped it, converted it to ogg format, renamed it as track 14 for Ys Origin and whalla! Instant awesome boss music! What do you guys think of swapping Ys tracks? -ud

I do swap out the Ys I&II tracks with those from other official Falcom arrangements als the Ys Origin Super Arrange CD founds it's way into the game. pretty easy though. rip CD as .ogg and change the file names accrodingly ^_^

...thirded!
Except I also swap out sometimes with some fan-arrangements. Felghana's boss tune can stick it, cause Napishtim's got some hot beats -- couple that with a house/trance remix, and you've got some of the hottest Inferno mode playthroughs of your gaming career!
I mean damn, you have no idea how awesome that ice dragon battle was, how intense it was, with the music it just felt so... there was a lot of... it made you sweat in places you didn't think could sweat, you had to battle with such ferocity, and... good lord, I can't describe it -- I'm at a loss for words!

Hmmm, for me, it depends. xD But 99,999% of the times I stick with the originals. xD
Even though only 00,001% is what is left to make it absolute, I'm not voting, since there isn't the most appropriate option available for me. xD

Likewise, wyrd. I like to play the games the way they were made. Sometimes, thought, I turn down the sound from the game and put on some music I feel like listening to at the moment.

A few swaps I've made:
Using Fukai's Version of Quatera Woods in Ys VI Lagoon's item shop music in YsF Hellion Sounds' Holders of Power in Ys Origin Take on Me in YsF
Now everything has been changed back to normal.
Basically, I was just fascinated that switching tracks could be done. One day though I would like to play YsF with the complete Ys III PC Engine soundtrack.

Blasphemy!!!!!!!!!! ........or rather I just feel like saying that. (So tempting it looked! XD) But really, no ho, I've never changed any games tracks with any other's. Perhaps simply because I had no clue it could be done? (Hello, ignorant console gaming! [one can't change tracks like so, even when burning a copy of a game for any console, ne?]) I have a feeling though, even if I had known about this, I still wouldn't have changed any tracks. And I don't think I want to start now either (as tempting as the thought is to try to experiment and stick in a song from Baroque or Ogre Battle into one of the Ys games, and see how the atmosphere changes). Its kind of because I like relating a particular piece of music to its... er... designated place. Even if that particular piece is making my ears bleed and sending me off into throes of agony! By the way... Some of yall's going to super hell. Who all be the one's heading off into a journey into hell? :'D The one's who cry blasphemy, or those who accept change and adapt with the times~?

I did this sorta thing with my PC version of Megaman X8. I replaced Lumine's first boss theme with that of the Dracula Perfect Selection Battle's version of Illusionary Dance, and it was the single most important thing I've ever done with my life.

One day though I would like to play YsF with the complete Ys III PC Engine soundtrack. ... No... why did you have to say that? Now I HAVE to do that sometime too. xD I wrote 99,999% because I never do these things, but I always feel really tempted to do so. Thing like that ^ xD I won't resist. I'll do that to YsF the next time I play it. By the way, which programs do you use for conversion? I use WinLame. (Lame name. xD)
