Am I the only one who thinks The Legacy of Ys for the DS is to easy? Compare this game to the Turbo Duo version. I beat the first Book within 3 hours. Dark Fact was such an easy win. I am getting the feeling that these remakes keep getting easier and easier. Even the PC version was easy, compared to the Turbo Duo version. But the DS version is the easiest yet, by far. I just hope Falcom enhances the challenge, and keeps the challenge relevant to how it was in the Turbo Duo version. Now, I know the Nightmare difficulty takes care of this issue, but I am just speaking for the Normal difficulty. This difficulty has became easier over the years with all the remakes. Discuss.

It's seems to me that you answered your own question. They added difficulty levels for a reason. A play like yourself need to be playing above the normal difficulty, but at the same time they don't want to make it too hard for noobs, because they'll just quit. Everyone wins.

As far as I remember, the Turbo version wasn't that hard, anyway. And you forgot an "o" in "to(o) easy".

I stopped playing it because it doesn't allow you to use the old school control scheme without using the Stylus.

But that only happened under some circumstances. Especially if you get cornered into a wall or something. (But I agree the game is low-budget'd etc..) Anyway, yes, I also do think this version is actually the easiest of all (even on Nightmare)... and I have played every version is existence. (Except those Mobile ones...) By the way, I DO also think TCD's was also among the easiest ones, especially Ys I. But the difficulty still felt... fitting.

The mobile phone version isn't difficult at all. I usually need a few attempts to beat Dark Fact, but really any difficulty in game comes from that fact that you are controlling it with a Cell Phone.
I usually consider Vagullion, the bat boss to be one of the most difficult bosses in Ys I, and in the mobile version he is the easiest boss in the game. For some reason the the left door, which isn't supposed to be opened in Ys I at all, is open during the fight, and he can't pass through it. So all you need to do is stand outside the door until he forms, run and get your hit, and then run back out.
IMO the Master System version was the hardest due to the dodgy hit detection.

That's true, I remember having a real tough time with the SMS version.
