I got mine. Sooooooooo glad it doesn't force any firmware higher than 6.35. I can continue playing Doom when I'm not playing Ys I'll probably start playing it seriously tomorrow. I'm going to be in a waiting room for a while.

Spotted this on the Ys Series Facebook page:
"Negative 10 out of 10 No way to play the game without having to ram into monsters the DS version that Atlus released lets you attack with a press of a button or attack by running into monsters"
Let the complaints start rolling in!
Sigh. =____=;

Sigh. =____=; This my friends is why I cared less for Facebook, Myspace, etc., for many obvious reasons. Anyways, anybody spotted anymore references to the 80's, I.E. beginning of Ys I "Uh-Oh here she comes! Watch out boy, she'll chew you up!" ;D

It was? Oh right, it was. Have a nice afterlife! Besides, dressed as Lilia? Yeah, you deserve beating by wet badger.

And some games require you to have a specific firmware in order to play? Do you know if PSP Go has this too? I was rather proud of that one. The RPGFan review mentioned my inclusion of a reference to "The Room," too, which I'm impressed got noticed so quickly. Speaking of RPGFan, they posted another Q&A with me! www.rpgfan.com/features/Ys_I_and_II_Chronicles_QA/index.htmlJess had no idea I answered that last question the way I did until she read it on RPGFan. She's now said she'll kill me with a wet badger. -Tom nice work Tom. was a good interview. i wanted to ask you though what the non-premium version of Ys i-ii chronicles will be like? will there be different cover art, etc? i guess i should get my hands on the premium version before it's too late, haha, because it looks like it's only available for a limited time?

And some games require you to have a specific firmware in order to play? I don't know. I think so. I haven't actually been forced to update my firmware yet. Only a couple narrow misses. First with Ys OiF where I decided to preemptively update before the game came out, and just yesterday with I&II where the UMD comes loaded with 6.35. No idea, but if you're using a PSP Go, you're using an ISO loader, and I don't know anything about that stuff. I just like playing Doom on my PSP. And of course, if you're using a PSP Go and playing by all of Sony's rules, you will need the latest firmware in order to access the PSN store regardless in order to get your games.

Oh, and I played some I&II earlier. Is it just me or did they simplify the caves?

And I finished I. It was pretty good! I liked the upgraded music a lot. I think the lack of voices is a massive step back, but it doesn't hurt my enjoyment of the game any. The boss battles made much more sense in this version than the Turbo CD version, so that's definitely a plus. One thing I 100% did not understand the need for was the totally different opening and addition of another town. IIRC, the boat scene from the TCD version was already an addition, but they completely changed their addition. It's not a big deal, but it really made me feel like they manufactured my game wrong and somehow put Ys 6 on my UMD. Curiously, the nudity in the intro snuck into the US release. It reminds me of the intro of Magic Knight Rayearth on the Saturn. The system's in its twilight years, so it's like who cares if the games show that stuff. But now I can't recommend it for younger gamers No matter. I appreciate the uncensored nature of the game. (Yes, I read about the runic thing with the ESRB.) I love the artwork so much. So many beautiful girls <3

Yeah, I always felt it was wierd that Barbado Port was added, though, I think that's based on the anime with Slaghfphghfph or whatever his name is

I think Dark Fact may just be the shortest last boss in any RPG ever.
Seriously.

Dark Fact is a terrible boss. Impossible until you get lucky, laughably easy once you do.

Then I must have really good luck, since I've found him incredibly easy both times I've fought him.

The Fact battle would actually be pretty easy if not for the ridiculous speed, but because it's so fast, it really is impossible. I practically had to cheat to beat him in Complete (I used an fps limiter).
To be honest, the only boss I liked in the original is Pictimos, largely because it's simple but fun (also because it was one of my favorites in Origin as well). Most of the other boss battles are far too luck-based.

Well, the first boss of II turned out to be way better than any of the bosses of I. Same for the game, in general.
... Also, 'Leg-Man', Wyrd? Really?
