I've recently become interested in the Legend of Heroes games.
I know that at least #6 can be played on a PC - does anyone know if there are others in the series that can be played on a PC (Windows) as well?
Also, are there English patches for ANY of these games?
Thanks!!

There is the slight possibility that the Sora no Kiseki games will make it out of Japan on the PSP, though, you seem to be more interested in the PC. Still, I'm hoping they will make it, & in much better form then the ones already out here on PSP.

Righto, that old announcement... I had forgotten all about it. Frankly I don't believe anything will ever come of it. Not SnK, not Ys VII, not Zwei!!, not OiF-PSP, nothing.
But I am a pessimistic guy, so.

Dragon Slayer: Legend of Heroes (also rereleased for Windows as "New Legend of Heroes", and available in English on the TurboGrafx-16 CD) Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch (on PSP in VERY BAD ENGLISH as Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch) Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion (on PSP in VERY BAD ENGLISH as Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion) Legend of Heroes V: A Cagesong of the Ocean (on PSP in VERY BAD ENGLISH as Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean) I just thought I would edit Tom's post to show you the games available in English. Also you will hear horror stories about the translation everywhere you look for the PSP games, but it is a bit of Myth. There are spelling errors, there are some sentences that don't make any sense, but they are few and far between, and each game is better than the last. The games are by no means unplayable.

They're not myths, if you've played them in the original Japanese. Sure if you that frame of reference, and the Japanese dialogue is as good as I hear that it is, than I can understand the disappointment in the English versions. But just because it's bad by comparision, doesn't mean it's bad. It's a serviceable translation for those of us that don't have the option to play it in Japanese. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but I still had an enjoyable experience with the series, and I never felt lost by the translation. That is why I say it's a myth. Every time these games come up, someone brings up the bad translation, but honestly it's not bad. It's not great, but it's not bad either. .

Look in an arcade, and enjoy the worse translations.
Of a modern RPG? Yeah, no worse.
Is it something in the coffe, my sentsences are coming out funny.

I'll agree with Wyrd here. You can argue that bad versions > no versions, but they're still bad. Considering all the negative publicity the bad version has caused, the benefits of existing vs. not existing is debatable too.
Man, I've debated Fire Emblem too much, lately...

I tried Legend of Heroes VI and..well...it's a very 'chatty' game... I really like the graphics but not knowing any Japanese made this game unplayable to me. Too bad, looked fun.
