Playing Ys II Complete (I actually like Ys II much more than Ys I) and am having a great time in it. But I think I might need some help... I'm in the Ice Ridge area and have come to the door that when I try to open it it says it is so cold it makes my hands numb. First I was thinking there might be a chest somewhere with some gloves..but I've run around and can't find another chest... Help?

The door is a lie. You need an item that helps you see things that are hidden. ...I'm only being vague because I forget the exact item name....

Thanks, with the staff of Light I can see sort of a 'shadowy' door to the left of it. I can't seem to open it in any way (tried the pick axe, fire magic, etc)...

Hmmm... been a while, so I can't say I remember this all that well... but I do recall that light magic aside, everything you need to get through that shadowy door is available to you within the Ice Ridge of Noltia itself. I honestly think there may be a treasure chest you missed somewhere - even if you think you've explored the whole area, it's very easy to miss one branch here or there. -Tom Thanks, I'll try to run around some more and see if there is a ches somewhere.

I always thought Tyalmath was one of the easier Ys II bosses.
Anyway, to anyone else wondering, the item in question is the Mirror of Anti-Illusion (Nightwolve/Deuce mistakenly (?) called it the Illusion Mirror), found on the far left side of the first Ice Ridge of Noltia screen. You'll need something else to get to it, though...

I'm running around in the lava area feeling a bit under-leveled. It takes 30 hits to kill some of the tougher mobs in there. But they give good XP so I may just run around, save often and try to gain a few levels

Just wait until you fight the six-legged egg-laying beast in Solomon! ...the strategy for that one is... insanely simple... seriously, if you get stuck, just let me know!
