My dislike for the console is well known. Don't let me bring the party down though, so post away with your favorite PSP memories. I liked it when I had a working one. Um... Metal Slug collection was pretty boss on the thing. Oh, and God of War was cool. I also liked Legend of Heroes (II).

My dislike for the console is also well known.
Unlike Justin however, I will be bringing down the party.
No really, I have to give the PSP two pieces of credit. 1. TV Output. May everyone follow in this example. It is a good thing. 2. Proper audio quality in a handheld, something Nintendo still seem reluctant to actually do.

Is it cheap enough to be worthwhile yet?

I don't really get the dislike other than the string of misfortunes that Justin experienced which I still find absolutely astounding. ^^;
I was happy with my big fat pink PSP the moment I got it. And then, even happier when I got the shimmery Lavender one because it was so comfortable to hold. The only issue I had with the PSP-2000 was that the actual build felt cheap. I don't think about it anymore though. :B
The happiest remained even when I got the PSP-3000. The Spirited Green is really nice shiny dark green! XD
I also like the DS Lite but that's something for another time~!

Same here~ Unlike Justin, I've had lovely luck with my PSP. Back when I first got it, the original ancient 1000, it kind of scared me more than a little. Shiny, glossy, with it's very glassy looking screen! It seemed like it was begging to be broken. :'D Add to that the UMD slot - it brought back memories of the lens in me PS1 and PS2 constantly dying and me spending fortunes upon their repairs. I figured.... whatever read the UMDs would not last very long either, with all the dust that floats about my house (or even outside!).
Surprisingly, till now, years later, thankfully, it's neither broken nor have the UMDs stopped being read. :'D It still has that one dead pixel that it's always had though~
Oddly, even though I bought meself PSP games way before getting the actual PSP (Ys VI!), I ended up getting a DS first, thanks to the oh so lovely Lunar: Dragon Song. And since that left such a baaaaaaad impression on me, when I finally did pick a PSP up, it was instant love for me. X'D
(At the end of the day, I don't think I've regretted buying either handheld. :'D Both have had amazing games and equally amazing sides~ [Such as Colors! for DS and emulation on me PSP...!])

Lunar Dragon Song is so bad that it is easy to like anything after playing through it. Another PSP title that I really dig is Locoroco. I had a blast blowing lunch hour after lunch hour away playing that game.

I'm like that, but with Lumines. The slow speed of LocoRoco REALLY messed with my psychology! HURRY UP DAMN YOU!

I love the aesthetics of Metal Gear/Metal Gear Solid. So good!
It's really a beautiful series, I've seen things that will stick with me forever in number 2 alone!

I'm kinda like wyrdy, here. PSP was probably my gateway into the Falcom world. I always had the intent of buying one some day, but the console had yet to pass my personal "5 games I want and it's worth the purchase" rule. But then Lumi, who seems to be my greatest common denominator in anything Falcom, showed me Gurumin one day. And it was retarded cute. And I went out and bought a PSP with Gurumin pretty much the next day. I don't think I associated Gurumin with Falcom at that point, though. ... now I honestly can't recall if I played this or Origin first. :/ Anyways, PSP's probably one of my favorite platforms at this point. My collection's grown to 17 games since starting with just Gurumin, and there are at least 3 more games I want coming out this summer alone, not counting other stuff I would probably buy if I actually had the time to play every single game that I wanted to play. In a perfect world, eh? I can't say I've really had any negative experiences with my faithful little 1000 PSP. It's getting a little finicky in its old age, kinda acting like an old NES sometimes. So, occasionally I do have to reload a game into the hatch, but I've never been unable to get it running. I do fear it might crap out completely one day, but that remains to be seen.

Oh yes, and I also tried out the demo of 100-man-ton no Barabara, which was... not quite as awesome as I was hoping, but still cute and silly enough that I'll probably have to buy it at some point. aka Patchwork Heroes in the US, available now I still only have the JP demo for 100-man-ton no Barabara, but man that game is heartrending when it tells you the name and age of the person in your team that just died.. most likely because of your own mistake I've been on my PSP a lot lately. I'm on a break from PSP2 (ran out of new missions at my level to play) and I've been trying to complete Dracula X Chronicles finally, especially since I've been on a Rondo of Blood kick since it came out for the US Wii VC

I'm going to plug Patchwork in today, which means the ol' beat up 3000 is going to get some burn time. I've heard very good things about it.Wyrd, I meant the Metal Gear games that are on MSX, and the NES to a lesser degree.

They are pretty cool actually (waiting for MP to chime in any second), and they kind of play out like a Zelda with guns.

They are pixelated guns! And you can blow tanks up with them haha.
Actually, speaking of MGS and Wyrdwad, have you checked out the Digital Comic at least? It is awesome!

lmao, yes, but it is presented in a really cool way. Bah, I know you won't budge, but if you see it in a dumpster, grab it! It only takes an hour to work through.

Also, is Patchwork Heroes available on UMD, or only as a download? If it's only available as a download, I'll probably buy the Japanese UMD version instead, since I don't want to have to flip-flop my PSN region in order to play it. DL only, I'm afraid. Which kinda puts me in the same problem now. To play the download version, I'd have to keep flip-flopping my PSP activation in order to play it. 1) I don't know how to do that quickly 2) I hate entering my long passwords on the PSP's software keyboard Also this talk of the MSX Metal Gear games makes me want to post the intro song from MG2: Solid Snake. Dunno if I want to put it in songs that get stuck in your head or favorite game openings!
