Hi, I wanted to share with a screenshot of the new game I am working on. You would be able to create a map and play several single player\multi player modes in it. Tell me what you think. (The image is on imageshack currently)

It looks beautiful as a classic-style game, but the question is, how does it play? I don't know anything about it; roughly, would it be Ys/Hydlide-style, Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest/Final Fantasy/Mother-style, Fire Emblem-style, or Zelda/Crystalis-style?

I am glad you like the visuals. Regarding the gameplay. You walk on tiles, so no free movement like in Ys. There are very short turns basically. Everyone moves simultanously one tile at most. You walk as if it was a real time game, eventhough it is turn based. The turns are pretty short and it wouldn't wait for you if you didn't press to move. Apart from that, the battle consits mostly of standing near an enemy, and then the attacks are automatic. You don't need to press anything. There will be "rules" for escaping, changing position in battle so a battle of several players against several monster will hopefully be interesting(There will be more things than that in battle) I intentionally ment to keep the game as simple as possible, because it's the first time I am making a multiplayer game. But I am in favor of simple gameplay anyway. I prefer simple good gameplay rather than complex medicore gameplay. The game that inspired me to make this game was miracle warriors from SMS. I couldn't make the full screen battles like in MW because I wanted multiplayer. I think this game might turn to be really good.

So it's basically a semi-automatic rogue-like with online capabilities? The idea almost reminds me of Half-minute Hero, as well -- I kinda like it!

Doesn't look or sound to be my kind of game, but anyone who's indie is alright with me!

Well you really can't say anything until the game is actually finished. So far it could be anything. I feel the same way I felt when I first saw Sorcerian. Why should I care? However after discovering Y's I now understand why I should care.
So looking at this, asides the art design, there is not really that much I could say. I would ditch, or save the USER MADE FONT, for something else in the game, and use a common system font instead. The FONT looks too playful, and phun, for this type of game. Something simpler would do.
Also the image art, while looking nice, does not really match the type of game your generating. At least from my point of view. I am an artist myself, I could imagine the work you did, just to get that head in, and convert it to a 4-bit 8-b format is annoying.
The head, makes me thinks of a DAD type world, game, which is okay. Consdering the majority of people on the forum are Falcom fans. Meaning it fits,
What are you using to generate this game?
I notice how wide the resolution is in comparison to the Knights size. If we could customize the characters, and put our own images, in terms of a network game. Maybe it could work out.

The user made font is too big to be readable, so I am replacing it with a smaller font. In what way the image art doesn't fit the game? Well, maybe you ment the head is too much clean and DND like, instead of dirty really medieval looking like.
I am creating this game in C++ and DX, but I plan to have a replaceable visual module. So you could make your own graphics, even 3D. But before doing that I hope to provide RPG Maker like tools for creating your own adventures\characters and etc.
The native resolution is 1024x768, but each 1x1 image pixel is multiplied into 2x2 pixel. So the real resolution is actualy 512x384. I have already given some of the gameplay details in this thread, I could elaborate if you have specific questions.
