Amazon.com says my Ys 7 LE is being prepared for shipment! Mine is ... Shipping estimate: August 23, 2010 Lulz. I ordered the thing on June 12. I wonder if the FREE SUPER SAVING SHIPPING has anything to do with it? Not amused. But whatever. I'll get a copy from one of three places eventually. Do you have the same icon on facebook? I feel like we are having the same conversation over there. :) Super Saver shipping is really slow because they will hold on to the package a few extra days before shipping it out. It is probably how they are able to offer free shipping. My theory with saver shipping that they hold on to packages going to a general area until they can fill up a truck with just packages to that place.

I got my shipping notice this morning and it claims ETA August 23. That's pretty damned long considering I paid for regular shipping. Hopefully it'll be like Deathsmiles LE and the game will arrive well before the ETA. Usually if something ships outta California, I get it before or on the first estimated arrival date.

Mine says Aug. 20th, and I picked two-day shipping.
Let's not forget though, this is all estimation, so we may get it sooner (or later).

I picked overnight shipping. I probably won't get it until next week anyway.
I hate Amazon.

RPGamer's review is up, in case anyone's interested. They gave it 4.0/5

I'm sure 1up will love the game. Jeremy and Kat usually have really good taste in RPGs

Aren't they the ones who absolutely despise Ys I & II, though, and consider them the most boring games of all time? -Tom Nah, I mean, Jeremy was even as gracious as to give a B- to the DS remakes. If you hear him talk about them in the podcasts too you can tell he loves the series(or at least I, II and IV)

I'm sure that has more to do with how many remakes there are of the games than the it does the games themselves. There's not much left to say about them from a reviewers' standpoint, you know?

Or maybe I'm reading too much into their phrasing, I dunno. -Tom A little of column A, a little of column B Sounds like I was first getting into the modern Ys games, I would start off going on about how awesome I & II Complete are until I hit the combat system.. which is a lot better that it sounds no matter how you describe it

Reviewers obviously have no taste.
And they obviously aren't taking Chronicles' bitchin' metal soundtrack into account.

I wasn't a fan of Chronicles' music either :l

Chronicles is a pretty mixed bag for me. Some of the tracks work really well, while others just... fall kinda flat. Palace of Destruction and Ice Ridge of Noltia are bitchin', tho.

I think the problem with Chronicles is that the quality parts of the soundtrack were back-loaded. As in, they saved everything good for Ys II and Ys I was just 'all guitars all the time forever', which got boring. The TGCD version of Palace of Destruction can never be topped for me, either. It did have the best Palace of Solomon by far, though.
EDIT: I will concede that Dreaming and Tower of the Shadow of Death kicked some ass too
