If you need/want a character drawing done I may be opening a comissions site (not high priced) to be drawing them, does anyone know a good place to advertise? (I know probably here it would get erased so I'm not posting it because it's not even done yet!) Also I'm kinda sketchy on prices, I don't know what would be reasonable or what people would consider to be too much. Any suggestions? My main audience is going to be old RPers from FF on AOL (since I was highly involved and have many contacts there, plus I'm very good at the art style) but I'm not going to be able to do registered characters obviously because you can't sell someone else's characters to other people. Please help!

You can put a link in your signature. But that won't get much attention.... I guess.

Please help! As far as advertising is concerned, I know Gaia Online has a very huge board population, but if you advertise there, you might get a bunch of n00bs and/or pretenders. However, I am an avid online RPer, so I could probably reference you to some potential forums/sites to advertise at that could get you a lot of customers. As far as pricing is concerned, I'd have to see an actual work to really think up a good price. I'm not an artist by any means, nor do I appraise at all, but I can certainly try to give you a good price at which to do your work for. Also, as far as I know, you can sell fanart. As long as you don't claim that the characters are yours, and that it is fanart, I don't think you could get legal ramnifications for that. I could be wrong. Who knows? Otherwise, I could also put you in touch with my girlfriend, who does basically the same thing you're wanting to do yourself. No doubt she would be a valuable source of information for you. Like I said, I could get you some references and such, but I'd rather PM the information over at your request as opposed to public linkage for reasons I don't wish to discuss. So feel free to drop me a line when you get this message. I'll be more than glad to help you out!

In regards to procing. My friends who open up to commission work varies the prices depending on the complication of the work.
If it is going to be big, colored, etc. More technical work involved, the higher the price goes. I know basic sig work they were getting 25$, but it consisted of full page color spread. Just wasn't the more detailed piece of art you'd ever see in your life.
Course, my friends did it for an online gaming community. Everyone wanted one, so they did pretty well.
