I am disappointed that they're not making it for PS3 but I haven't exactly touch the 2nd game, so I can't exactly make a judgement here.

It's good so far, and... wait. Why would Phantasy Star PORTABLE be released on the PS3?
PSP needs some love, and right now it's getting it. Let the PS3 have God of War and Dead Rising 2 and bigger franchises.

I got you~ Kidding.
I don't understand VC, I don't have a PS3, so I never played the first, and the second is a strat RPG, isn't it?

The first is a SRPG too. Other than its revolutionary gameplay, one of the best things abouty it is that there was no need for grinding. The second one introduces a new class system which promotes grinding like crazy, though, effectively eliminating one of the strongest aspects of the first game. There are many other issues too, like the horrible story, terrible main cast, terrible maps (and lack of variety), and the inferior graphics. Actually, VC2 looks good for a PSP game, but the original looked absolutely amazing for a PS3 game, so it's still hard to swallow.

Hmm. I see. I'm not gonna bother with either VC2 or 3 then.
Don't like SRPGs.

don't be disappointed in Sega! Phantasy Star Portable 2 is here. It's good. More like Phantasy Star Online 2 is here. Sega saved TGS.

Hmm. I see. I'm not gonna bother with either VC2 or 3 then. Don't like SRPGs. It's worth noting that VC isn't much like any other SRPG you've ever played. Calling its battle mechanics innovative isn't just fanspew - it's a legit statement. Free-range maps (no grid), combat taking place in real-time, characters actively defend themselves during opposing turns. You could run down the laundry list of things that add up to make it an excellent game. Lumping it with SRPGs and dismissing it outright is doing a disservice to yourself!

I only played the demo for Valkyrie Chronicles, but the gameplay reminded me of Silent Storm on the PC. That was a fun game.

Well, I always felt it was basically like a good Worms 3D game.

Only IN AMERICA. And Sega of Japan (like a lot of Japanese companies) really seems to have their xenophobia blinders on tight, so they see nothing outside of their little island nation That is not entirely true, some popular series do make it from here to Japan. It is also about preserving the sales. They want money in not going out. Also so what. Videogames, comic books, and animation all fall under the same light. In the west it is a completely differnt story. We are just a bunch of not even considered human to the Japanese folks. Comic books, videogames, and animation all falls under differnt lights in the western world. The France ( that is about to have another beheading spree, ) even have a Japanese festival day, I believe. WTP
