WOW is a waste, as is EQ, and every other standardized MMO. First off, what the HELL inspired "auto-walk"? Where you're trying to get from point A, to point B... and the game just... masturbates?! Oh, and nevermind choosing a warrior, unless you want to "auto-attack", that full-on masturbation gets far too many people freaky, but not me. Oh, yet, if you chose, say, a bard, it MIGHT be less boring... "Let's run in circles, distract the enemy, and ummm... we'll see what that does! Yeah!" ...okay, failing that, you could always choose a mage. "Okay. Cast. Cast. Cast. Cast. Cast. Cast. Cast." You're literally just standing there pushing a button. How much fun is that?! Granted, you CAN use potions every now and then... or all the time, just to break the monotony. Oh, wait, there's more! You can also SPEND REAL LIFE MONEY IN THE GAME!!! Wow, if that doesn't give you a geeky shopping hard-on, I don't know what will! Oh, and let's not forget FFXII -- an "offline MMO", which fits most of the above masturbatory criteria, EXCEPT it adds gambits, so you can order it to masturbate to your liking! Kinky!

I've played EQ, DAoC, FFXI, WoW, Age of Conan, EVE Online, and Warhammer Online. As games, yeah they all suck. But with the right group of friends, all of them become fun
By extent, I could also denounce all RPGs with turn-based combat due to their lack of gameplay. Instead of learning how to get better at the games, you rely on luck and grinding XP
So taking this back to PSO/U/Z/Po/P2/P2I/O2? They're action RPGs and require a level of interaction even above that of Diablo 2 (clickclickclickclickclick). That and the only online multiplayer game I've seen with a more robust character creation than the PSU-series is City of Heroes. Also, Tron lines

I don't play any MMOs, as I prefer the single player experience, but I DID masturbate to FFXII twice. Once for over a hundred hours, which only four games have accomplished. As an RPG purist, I initially hated the new system, but once I realized I could micromanage my party members without the use of gambits I enjoyed it much more. For me it played more like Baldur's Gate than like it was designed to play.
I only used Gambits when I was exploring around weak monsters, and my party memebers would get distracted and rush off to kill anything that moved (much like my sister's Boxer/bulldog Kalika on a walk).
The monster hunts and vast exploration were what really made the game golden for me (I like to explore foreign terrain even out of game), even without a plot. (Seriously, FF13 was better in the story department.)

That is why I stopped playing PSO. I started to interact with clowns like this. All that time, I could have been making something of myself. Seriously. There is nothing wrong with these, games. I am certain about creating my own. The time spent, I or anybody could have written three whole games by then. Even sell them. The only reason why I played PSO, was the fact, it was Phantasy Star. It was the continuation of a series. FFantasy, just copied there idea. WOW I am only suggesting, since at least you can screw up people. Seriously. Even run around making money to sell, to those people. I wonder if I could get somebody to go down on me for WOW monies. www.ripten.com/2008/10/10/wow-whore-has-36-accounts-raids-by-himself/I mean look at this guy. Makes me want to start some kind of union like on South Park, and Pwn this guy, and his minions. I can't stop laughing at this thread. It is like 3D television, It is tempting, but Kalleria is simplier.

Thanks for bringing Opoona to my attention Wyrd. After watching some vids on Youtube, I think I could actually get used to the art style. All the other game elements sound good enough that it'd be worth desensitizing myself to it visually (I actually had to force myself through the first eight hours of Wind Waker before I started to like it--and I loved it by the end).
Aside from the visuals everything about the game sounds right up my alley.

I got a rant about this damn game!
It's about the bloody room decoration feature shit!
The thing is so .... elementary! It's better than Miku's boring ass room in Project DIVA but I don't understand why I can't simply have the option to remove all decorations at once before applying a new "skin" for the room.
I suppose they wanted to make things realistic and have the player go to each and every single item to put them away? :P Or maybe they figure people won't use the decorating feature all that much???
There's also less interaction than there could be for a few of the decorations -- like the toilet, for instance!
Also! I find it kind of creepy that you can put "life-size" portraits (more like posters) of various story NPCs on your wall. :P So far, I have one of Emilia and one of the Beastling guy but due to the room skin, I can't put them up as I don't have the option to. :\
Man, the game should have come with a screenshot feature for the room. :P
On a different note, I kind of miss being able to raise a MAG. Or maybe you can?
Oh hey, I forgot I even played Phantasy Star 0. Don't think I ever finished it.

Why yes, I am enough of a Phantasy Star fan that I'm likely to respond to most Phantasy Star discussion
In PSU there was an option to remove all room decorations while talking to your Partner Machine/MySynth. I haven't messed around with PSP2's rooms much yet.. but that's gone now? That's as annoying as having to remove your PM/MySynth from your party before you can give them the item to change their model #
If you think the wall posters for plot characters are creepy, the Japanese version had high-res (the highest texture resolution in the game, actually) picture of Gravure idols in swimsuits. The passwords to unlock the posters are the idols' birthdates and only one was 18. The rest were like 14-16 The Cosmo Fountain (toilet) is a v.1 room decoration and none of those were interactive. But interactive ones can backfire on you. My friend has a Parrot in his room and this past weekend I taught it a few phrases
I dunno what I'm gonna do with my room yet. I was thinking Blue Factory and line the walls with Refreshing Jelly items. In PSU I had one room that was a cave filled with Boomas, a cafe setup filled with A-Photon Reactors (thinking mini nuclear reactors all over the place), and a room that displayed all the enemy trophy decorations My biggest complaint is that the limit on how many items you can display at once is too low, but I've seen how long it takes to load up a fully loaded room, so I can understand the limit
