On PC joypad or joystick are often less usefull than
game machine (especially Nintendo pad).
Which one do you use for PC games ?

If you ask me, all PC controllers are utter crap (and yes, I have tested the most popular and expensive ones).
I am using a Super Joybox 13 to connect a Gamecube controller to the PC - it doesn't get any better than that (but I never play games on PC anyway).

Guillemot has some good controllers although they are far from the one used on console

I built my own joysticks and a bunch of adapters. So far I can use it on the PC, Genesis, TG-16, Saturn, and Playstation 2. I bought some crappy "Real Arcade Stick" from Gamestop and replaced the joystick with a Sanwa and the buttons with Happ Competitions. One of these days I'll replace the Happ Competitions with Seimitsus, then it'll really rock.

I got the same converter as Seldane but then for PSX/PS2 to USB. so I play with my PSX controller on my PC's.
only use it for Ys VI and my ROM collection

I use the psx-pad. for me it´s one of the best joypads. i also love the gamecube-pad but it has not enough buttons for some games.

Same as Wardner. I choose the psx pad because I'm really used to it for fighting games like GG or the Kawaks ones. I also started playing Ys Eternal with it  |

Rpgs are meant to be played with joystick Keyboard is only useful for MMORPGs and FPS He meant Ys I, II, III are made for keyboards (PC-8801 / MSX, etc) (8462 keys on the numeric keyboard). They are also best played with a keyboard since they don't use buttons. YsIV was made for controllers, but it plays better with a keyboard (not The Dawn of Ys however, it is very hard to play with a keyboard). |
