Hmm, I went through Ozma's quest in Selray first before going to Carna in Komodo. I haven't started her quest for real yet so I am not sure if the game makes Carna's quest harder if you finish Ozma's first. The flash guard is indeed a bit harder to pull off in this game. You can no longer pull it off against multiple attacks by just tapping the R-buttons. Flash-move seems to be more useful at getting away from the enemy than attacking it since the enemy's attack motion also gets slowed down so while you are invincible, you are also pushed away by the enemy attack unless you move to the back or something. And if the enemy was doing a sweep attack then melee characters cannot approach the enemy during most of flash-move time. I find leveling slower in this game than Ys Seven. The boss battles are slightly more difficult than Ys Seven's but not so much as I was able to finish first three bosses within five or so tries without the use of healing items. While they are really fun, I'd say the main problem with boss battles is that they take a bit too long to kill. But then again, I am playing this on nightmare so I guess that's to be expected.

Eh!? I think the graphics are gorgeous! I know the models look a bit rough around the edges -- and everything could look "sharper" -- but I love the details of the scenery and lighting. There was one cliff area in the forest where you can see the trees below. It was pretty breathtaking to me. But yes, I definitely agree the PC Ys games do look better than Celceta. :x Like ParanoiaDragon, I don't have much experience with Vita games. This is my second full-length Vita title -- the first one being Super Stardust Delta. SSD had crazy sharp and vibrant graphics compared to Celceta but I think it's not really fair to compare the two since they're completely different games. And it's not like SSD had a lot of variation in models or background designs, etc. :P Actually I haven't played any Vita games yet, I don't have one yet. Those thoughts I posted were not from me, but from Kazi Kiri on the PCEngineFX boards. Here's his latest thoughts: I've got just over 50% map completion now. This game is fuuuuuun. Totally recommend Celceta Sea of Trees to Ys fans - especially those who liked seven. The graphics still suck, though. Now I've purchased Uncharted on the Vita, and played several demos. Though I've heard many complain about the graphics in Uncharted (and I can see what they mean) it looks beautiful compared to Ys. Ys is by far the worst looking Vita game I've seen yet. Story is so different from either version of Ys 4, it's pretty much a whole different game, and has very little to do with Ys 4 - other than some common characters and tunes. And speaking of the music, I'm not really sure what's going on there, either. So much of the same tracks are reused throughout the game (always the same town music, for instance, even though Ys 4 had several different town BGMs). Yet, I've already heard a few brand new tracks that aren't even from Ys 4... while there are still so many remaining Ys 4 tracks to use. I'd really like to hear as much of the Ys 4 soundtrack used as possible, though it's looking a lot like a lot of tracks are going to be excluded at this point. Still, everything is overshadowed by how much fun the game is. Dungeon designs are great, new characters are great, combat is great, optional quests are generally worth doing, and uncovering the map is fun (Famitsu was right about that). You guys had better get a Vita...

The description says that the new arrangement of The Dawn of Ys plays in a particular location (the same one seen in the video, like all those uploads) so I'd say it's safe to assume it's not fanmade. The rearrangement of Fool's Temptation was audible in one of the pre-release video clips as well. The Nico/Youtube uploads clearly don't represent everything in the game but it just goes to show that there are more songs out there in the game that we don't know about. I'll be surprised if A Great Ordeal does a complete no-show for example even though we haven't seen an upload yet. Of course, if someone who has played the whole game says a song isn't in that's one thing but given the amount of content in the game and the fact that there's at least some postgame content in the form of boss rush (and possibly more?), I'm not counting anything out just yet.

My guess is that it'll most likely show up in one of the side quests

No offense, but that Kazi Kiri guy saying the graphics suck is really needing new glasses pushing it.
And I'm looking forward to comparing them to the Ys PC games' - from screenshots alone one can tell they already ARE superior to any PC counterpart in graphics in at least some regards.
That aside, the game sounds promising as we all had hoped, but it also sounds like the least we expect from the original Ys IVs in it, the better. I still want to know if Lilia makes an appearance or if Adol returns to Esteria, be it in-game, drama CD or both. But I feel these are more and more unlikely now. And still curious as to how well-justified the new characters' presence will be.

Ys will be my first Vita game, too, so I will have nothing to compare with. XD Anyway, I downloaded the Uncharted demo a while ago, and I tell you, Ys graphics are much better, and cutest, in my opinion.
Hey, I want to see Adoroo! X3 Incog: I saw the image you uploaded of little Adol, I just want to hug him, every time I see him. XD
I made a draw the day of the release, but it has errors, considering that I'd never practice it, and I went so fast.^^u I'm waiting a Yakra's one, too.

I haven't started her quest for real yet so I am not sure if the game makes Carna's quest harder if you finish Ozma's first. I'm not sure but with Carna joining at level 11 and Adol and Duren at 10 and 9, respectively, I might be in for a bit of hurt. ^^ Also, I agree with the levelling and kind of surprised my party's ONLY at those levels right now. It's not like I run away from battles or anything. Oh yeah, more cute little Adol for all~ <3 @ ParanoiaDragon: Holy crud! Already over 50%? X__x I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at my own putt putt progress in the game. XD Edit: Derp, didn't see that those weren't your words. ^^; Edit #2: Another screenshot! XD I find the pikkards look kind of creepy in this game. :( Oh yeah, giving animals food and stuff that they like DOES net you something in return. I kept getting fur from them (why does a chicken have fur???) so I kind of stopped. I'll try the pikkards right now though. ......... Bloody hell. It just gave me fur too. Just for that, I'm gonna select the option to pinch its nose! (For some reason, there's always an option to do something to animals. I've yet to find them becoming happy from any of the choices so I think all of them so far have been in the form of some abuse.)

I sure hope Falcom does something revolutionary with the series soon instead of the same old shenanigans. I was watching the trailer on Youtube and the characters mouths weren't even moving when they were speaking in the close-ups, that's so N64. This looks like another Ys Seven with minor enhancements, gameplay looks fun and addicting.

Finally, I've got it! *0*
I didn't understand a bit (only a little of Hiragana, and Katakana XD), but, at least, I'd draw my sword, and saw my first memory. =P
For what I deduced about what I saw, Adol doesn't even now what are monsters now. XDDDDD
Script looks cool and funny, graphics are awesome, and music, as always, very cool.
The only thing I miss is Dogi.
Link: I've got a N64, and it doesn´t got that graphics, and characters haven't got that expressions (of course, is oldest).

I would love to play this isntallment but sadly it won't be any time soon. I'm currently on a tight budget, have no interest in a vita at the moment, saving for for Wii U

For what I deduced about what I saw, Adol doesn't even now what are monsters now. XDDDDD Is this some kind of plot point ? Like, the reason why Adol doesn't wreck the villains right after the game start ? Does he even have his Cleria armor ? If he isn't in the game, I'd consider this a fuck-up. It's the perfect opportunity to explain his upgrade from just cool guy who smash walls to Adol's best bro.

Hi guys! Can anyone help out in the Misty summit area? Which is the right way to go? Im sort of goin around in circles. Help please! Thanks! I actually took screenshots of all the zones so I think it goes something like this: From the entrance, head north of the guy standing at the statue and go east. Next screen, go east again. 3rd screen, head toward the second tree (closest to the bottom of the screen) and go southward. 4th screen should have a harvest point for minerals. Pick the southwest path. 5th screen is southwest again. Last area should have a waystone and a statue with sun rays shining on it (just like back in the Woods of Strays maze). Edit: Vid's actually in HD. XD Embiggen it!

Falcom fucked up. I know Falcom wanted to make their own Ys IV, but when the originals had such a magnificent Dogi (especially DoY's), leaving him out of what is supposed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ys is really stupid.
Of course, it's not a flaw or anything, but fans are bound to be disappointed with the absence of such an iconic character, and they should have known that.

If that image is not a Photoshop retouch, you made my day. *0* But the name it shows is not Dogi. =/
