OK... so the soundtrack for YsC left a lot to be desired... not only did it cut out a TON of the best music from the Ys IV's but it also had some atrocious arrangements of some of the tunes. (I'm looking at you Dawn of Ys). So now that we have a PC version... I thought why not mod it? Well... I did get a properly synced intro with the PC-Engine rendition of Dawn of Ys working... and went about setting up loops in OGGs of the PC-Engine and Perfect Collection disks. However it looks like the loop data is found elsewhere... and I have no idea where. Does anyone have any ideas where that might be stored? I know we have had a translation of the previous Chinese version... so maybe that info is available?
If not? Does anyone have any ideas?

My guess would be it might be similar to Ys: Oath in Felghana. In that case, the looping data is stored in the OGG file by way of the tagging feature.
Here's an example from an unreleased soundtrack mod for Felghana where the fantastic Ryo Yonemitsu arrangements from the Ys III: Wanderers from Ys PC Engine CD were ported over:
For the file "Y3BG24.ogg" you have 2 extended tags:
LOOPSTART 466431 LOOPLENGTH 10273174
These are visible and editable with WinAmp under the Advanced tab after right-clicking 'View file info', and under 'Extended tags' with the Mp3tag app which also supports OGG.
Finally, you'll need something like Audacity to help you build your own loops. You change the start/end time viewing at the bottom to 'Samples' and try to determine the best start/end to create the loop illusion.

Basically the loop data is stored somewhere other than the OGGs. Sucks but until someone gets into the file structure itself, there isn't much to be done.

Oh really ?? Hm, well, since it's upgraded from Ys I & II Complete, my other guess would be it inherited the original Ys I&II system of . POS files which is 8-byte files named the same as the wave file where the first 4 bytes are start offset in sample count & next 4 bytes as loop length. All these files likely have been moved inside the large asset archive file. I did make a POS Editor for the fan project, but I dunno if I released it publicly with source code. I do eventually plan on making a github to dump all my work such as this, but haven't gotten around to it.
