Well, I figure a lot of people might have played other Falcom games before discovering Ys. I played Faxanadu first. How about you?

Not that I had any clue about it, but my first was Legacy of the Wizard (AKA - Dragonslayer IV).
I didn't really "discover" Falcom until I played Ys1&2 for Duo in 1991.

The first Falcom-game I played was also Faxanadu. I remember I got a Faxanadu T-Shirt when buying the game here in Sweden. I might have played Ys for Master System before, but if that´s the case, I don´t remember it. So I go for Faxanadu.

Ys was my second Falcom game and that was the game that got me. From the first time I saw it, it has been my favorite game (my favorite game before that was Star Tropics for NES). Edit: I just remembered! Faxanadu was NOT my first game! Ys was. I remember now that I found Faxanadu similiar to Ys because the hero "died" the same way. And the Falcom logo made it obvious that it was by the same company. Long time ago, it's hard to remember.

Pretty sure it was Faxanadu, possibly Legacy of the Wizard, but, I DEFFINITLY remeber playing that, before playing Ys 3(which was the first Ys I played, & in Japanese to boot!).

Ys 1 for Master System. My brother rented it one time and I thought it really sucked (was about 9 or 10 years old at the time) but he really liked it so I started playing it too. Became my second favourite Master System game, can't really compare with Phantasy Star though .

Faxanadu on NES, Ys I & II on my Turbo Dou. I enjoyed Ys more between the two, and still play the TD version to this day.

My first was Popful Mail. I loved it.
I've also been in love with her ever since.

Something to do with the way she dress? That might be part of it. I also have a thing for redheads. On the other hand, I don't have to reply to a topic I started.

for me it was faxanadu for the Nes, but it was Ys 1 and 2 for the Turbo that made me notice Falcom more.

To be honest, it sounds more generic, mainly cuz I hear the word Densetsu so much in games, that sometimes I even get confused as to what game is what, but that's just me. Plus, I grew up with Legend of Heroes, which is the same title, just translated........Deuce, correct if I'm wrong

It says ED(X=number) on all the icons for the PC versions of The Legend of Heroes. I like ED more than LOH, but The Legend of Heroes sounds a lot better than "Eiyuu densetsu" which just sounds weird to me. Probably because I don't understand it.
The Legend of Heroes is a cool name to me though.

My first Falcom game, as far as I know, was Ys 6. Yeah, I've jumped in a little late in the game. But I'm -really- enjoying the earlier Ys games now that I have one of them (sorry, Seldane. You were right. ), so I can testify to these guys really knowing their games.

My first FALCOM game was the PC9801 version of ED4. I played it on my mom's cheap imported PC9821 notebook but couldn't clear it because I don't know Japanese that time. Later I played Ys eternal and I remembered the name of Falcom.

My first Falcom game, surprisingly, was Ys 3 for the Genesis. Surprisingly enough, it was Renovation that released the game (and subsequently many Telenet games as well, as it was a subsidary of Telenet) on the Genesis in the States, so there was no Falcom logo to recognize (I did, however, recognize the Renovation logo, as I had already purchased Syd of Valis and, I believe, Valis I and Exile). So...yeah. Didn't end up beating it for a few weeks, and I don't believe I even had max level when I did...which raises another question: what was the first Falcom game you beat? I know it could possibly be another topic, but why clog up the boards even more? ^^"
Technically, Ys 3 is the only Falcom game I own. Therefore, it is the only Falcom game I've managed to beat. All my other Renovation games are Telenet Japan (Valis, Syd of Valis, Valis III, Exile), so they can't count. T_T

Legacy of the Wizard was the first Falcom game I had the chance to check out. I remember being fascinated with the game at the time. One of my friends who had a ton of NES games a the time really hated it and sold it to me for $10 back in 1990. I took him up on the offer and spent hours crawling through the dungeons, and deciding which family member was the most effective to play with.
