I used to love the "Mr. Surprise Bags" growing up, even though they really only contained junk. Same concept.

I view mystery purchases as a slightly more benign version of the lottery. At least you will get something for the money you spend.
I am a bit miffed that the weekly sale items were discontinued. But then I realized I never bought anything that was on weekly sale before...

Hey guys! I don't normally post, I am very much a lurker... rawr...
But I have a question for you guys and I think this thread is the most appropriate one to ask.
I live in Canada and I have ordered from Falcom -MANY- times. I have never had problem ordering from them except recently. I was interested in picking up the Sora no Kiseki PC set and I did the usual in the email I sent them.
However, it has been over a week and I have yet to receive a reply! This has never happened before - the longest I have had to wait for a reply is maybe.... 3 days?
I sent them a couple re-sends (I thought that maybe my email was just being shuffled down by a barrage of incoming mail) and I even made a new similar looking email through Gmail (I was taking someone's advice from this thread earlier on) and sent the order request that way. Yet no reply!
Is anyone having a similar experience right now? Can anyone offer me any tips for figuring this out?
I hope my original email isn't on their block list or something..
Anyways, just posing this open question to you guys cause you guys order a lot of stuff too.

Thanks man!
Just wanted to throw it in as an aside.
Keep up the stuff you do, it is inspirational!
Anyways, that is definitely reassuring. I'll post here again when I hear word.
Thanks again!

Hmm, still nothing yet.
This is odd. My original email was sent on the 26th of June. I'll keep waiting, but I'm curious as to why there is a hold up?
Are the busy with a ton of orders, or are they just busy? Or are the international order guys off? Haha!
is order_h19@falcom.co.jp still the email? Has anyone had any luck over the last couple weeks?

I have discovered something this week about ordering from Falcom from when I preordered VS from them. They *will* keep your ordering info on file if you order from them enough now. They actually remarked that I they saw that I've ordered from them before and asked if my credit card # - with about all but 5 numbers *'d out was still valid. I was a bit surprised by this, and it does have its pros and cons (though I'm sure it's kept like most companies keep business account information for things of this sort)- however, it does mean transmitting your CC # via email less at the same time. Yes I knew it, I did this in the past, It's been a while since I ordered something, tough.

Crazy deal right now, buy three select PC games and they'll be 1,100 Yen Each. www.falcom.co.jp/mailorder/special/special.htmlIncludes Zwei 2 (not Zwei 2 plus), Ys I & II complete, Xanadu Next, and Oath in Felghana (which appears to be sold out).

I guess they selected a portion of their inventory for this deal, the order codes for the special offer are with a 'K' on the end. so for this special both OiF and LOH4 are sold out. edit: SnK SC and SnK 3rd are now also sold out

It was a bad translation so I couldn't tell if it meant this weekend was a holiday weekend or not. (a quick google search tells me the third Monday in September is a holiday, which wouldn't be the 13th, so I dunno.)

Hmmm? I thought the special sale ran until 9/23 or when they sold out of all the stock for the sale. The page does say '9/23' on it.

Got my order email off to Falcom. After reading Floofy's translation (Thanks!), I was musing with the idea of adding "If <game on the special> is not available, please replace with <another game on the special>." However, that probably would have added more complexity to the order than really should be in the email.
Spin the dial and take your chances!

I'm hoping if something is sold out they'll send back an e-mail asking if I'd like to pick something else instead, but yeah I thought of that too after sending it out! Hopefully they wont sell out of everything over the weekend. I wish they'd get an automated system for international orders, but I'm guessing they would have already if they were getting a ton of international orders . Hmnn I also just realized I left the "K" out of the item numbers too, but I suppose that doesn't matter given I mentioned the special, and put in the sale price.

Their current pricing system doesn't exactly work for international orders, as the prices on the website already include the local taxes and local area shipping. So whenever you make an international order, they have to remove the taxes and shipping from the website price and provide you with the new information. Right, I just meant that the inclusion of the price would make it obvious I'm trying to take advantage of the special. Which should be obvious to them anyway. This is what my brain is like after a week of work Anyway I hope for all our sakes everything doesn't sell out over the weekend.

Everything is showing up as sold out on the special offer page now, though I haven't gotten a reply to my e-mail I'm guessing I missed out.

No, it might be a case of Falcom being busy processing orders, among other things. If you got your email sent to them in time (i.e. while they still had the titles you were ordering in stock.) they will set it aside for you even if you do not get a reply right away.
And that latest weekly special from Falcom is Vantage Master Portable! Along with the strategy guide, for 3800 yen.
For the first 10 orders or by 9/23, whichover comes first.

So two successful orders from Falcom now with no issues....except the charges haven't shown on my credit card statement . Previously there were "pending charges" amounts that seem to correspond to said purchases but they are not gone and the customer service people had no clue, but Falcom obviously how no problems running the card, or they wouldn't have sent the product, so call me confused. Do transactions in other currencies take longer to process or something?

I'm pretty sure they take at least a little longer to process. I've never had issues with either Falcom processing my card and sending me the goodies or my credit card company figuring out that I owe them for said goods.
Off topic but in case anyone was interested, y'know that mystery CD offer of a few months back? I stuck that on another order for fun, figuring that if I got two CDs I didn't already have it would be worth it. Well, here's what they felt like emptying off their shelves:
Sora wo Miagete (SnK Vocal Collection) Symphony Sorcerian VM Japan OST Ys Piano Collection I

The Sora wo Miagete/SNK Vocal Collection, eh? I actually wanted to get that CD. Maybe I should have added the mystery box the last time I ordered.
I think this was mentioned earlier, but Falcom can take a while to actually charge your card for your order. They do place a pending reserve on your card when they are about to ship the order, but not always. International card transactions does add a slight delay (CD Japan charges always took a couple days to appear on the account.), but most of the delay really is from Falcom.
I personally do not like the delay, since I want the order to be charged when the order ships, since makes account keeping a bit difficult and you never know what might come up between the time to order and time to be charged.
I take it you got a confirmation email on your last order?
