Nothing new in 1305---only one new package nd ,maybe, Vista suport... nothing else. The best way is to update 1.00 to 1.1.09. The you should use that amateur patch that makes the limited edition to stanard edition. So patch it with 1202 and the with 1202 english patch. I hope steps are the right ones. Bye Bye

I don't have Vista so i can't test it myself

Well man 1.00 run on Vista but you can't use 1.3.0.5 patch. You have to use at least 1109 patch. Since you have 1.00 version , the latest patch for that version is 1109. That's all.

But i thought 1202 will work after 1.0.0.0>1.1.0.9? Will try it in an hour or 2... If i understand your readme correctly, i just have to bring it back to jpn by copy/pasting the contents of backup. Then apply 1202 then 1202 english patch.

Bye Bye just to make a correction doppi, the unofficial patch that adds the 1.2.0.0/1.3.0.0 extras into version 1.0.0.0 needs to be applyed into version 1.0.0.0 only. it only works that way. here is a link to the patch: rapidshare.com/files/64283136/YS6LtoSPatch.rarand here is just a quick reference for those still confused with the diferent editions of the game, and what you should do: ----------------------------------------------------------- those who have the 1.0.0.0 (the legendary edition): well, you have two choices: - the first one is update the game with the oficial 1.1.0.9 patch and then applying the doppis YsVI_Eng_v1109only_final. you will get the game translated and perfect playable, but, without the new difficulty modes and time attack. - the second way is to apply the YS6LtoSPatch (link above) and them apply the doppis YsVI_Eng_v1202only_final, this way you will got all the extras of version 1.2.x.x and 1.3.x.x and the game translated. ( i am currently using this way) now, for those who have the 1.2.0.0 edition, the standard edition: - you only need to apply the official 1.2.0.2 patch (from falcon site, not the one that i posted here) and them the doppis YsVI_Eng_v1202only_final, them you will have the game perfect playable and translated, with timeatack and the extras difficulties. and, finally, those who have the 1.3.0.0, the vista edition: (don't make any confusion, just because you're playing the game on vista it doesn't mean that you have this particulary edition, the other editions runs fine on vista too, check file version to be sure of what version you do have) - you need to apply the official 1.3.0.5 patch from falcon site, and them apply the doopis YsVI_Eng_v1305only_final, and you will got the game with the timeattack and extras difficulties and translated. ----------------------------------------------------------- hope this helps with all those patch confusion.

If you got the 1.0.0.0 version you must, respectively: - Download and install Falcom's official 1.1.0.9 patch; - Download and install doppiapunta's english patch for the 1.1.0.9 version. Ys VI will work flawlessly in english by then. But it won't work on Windows Vista no matter what. (Apparently it can run under Vista in certain occasions, but it isn't recommended.)
If you got the 1.0.0.0 version AND you want to play it with Time Attack and with 2 extra difficulties, you must, respectively: - Download and install the patch Adib just linked us to in his post above; - Download and install doppiapunta's english patch for the 1.2.0.2 version. Ys VI will work flawlessly in english by then. But it won't work on Windows Vista no matter what. (Apparently it can run under Vista in certain occasions, but it isn't recommended.)

That's essentially what Adib just posted, but in other words. ... I guess we couldn't be any clearer now. @_@

Just a heads up doppi, been experimenting some more with the update patches and your english patches and found something interesting. For reference, the update patches I used I downloaded off of Falcom's website a while back. Initial version is 1.0.0.0 and I'm using WinXP
Install game, update to 1109: game works in Japanese Install game, update to 1109, install 1109 English Patch: game works in English Install game, update to 1109, update to 1202: game will not work for me Install game, update to 1109, update to 1202, install 1202 English Patch: game works in English Install game, update to 1202: game will not work for me Install game, update to 1202, install 1202 English Patch: game works in English
and of course Install game, update to 1109, install 1109 english patch (game works), update to 1202 (game doesn't work), install 1202 english patch (game works)
Like I said before the game runs fine when it does manage to work. However, I found some weird graphical glitches whenever I play with the 1202 english patch, I'll take screenshots and let you look at them along with the settings I was using.
edit: Clearly posted after those two guys that showed the right way to do things. I assume using the unofficial patch they linked solves the graphical issues that come from using the official 1202 patch on the 1000 version.

just one thing red hairdo: the 1.0.0.0 and 1.2.0.0 runs fine on vista, i'm currently playing these versions on vista, i got the legendary 1.0.0.0 disc, and them patched to 1.2.0.2 version and both patchs works fine. the unique problem that i got was that to install the game, i needed to create a "Application Data" folder in my user folder on vista, but i think this was because i accidentaly deleted this folder before, because on other systems it wasn't necessary.
falcom just does not support you to play 1.0.0.0 and 1.2.0.0 on vista. if you got any problem, they will not support you. they recommend using version 1.3.0.0, and only support this one. but it isn't really necessary.

Adding to the previous post, yes the unofficial patch fixes the graphical issue I had. Do what Adib and Red Hairdo recommended and you can't go wrong.

I cant get the game translated. I follow these steps but the game is still only in Japanese Install the game, base version is 1.0.0.0 apply the YS6LtoSPatch, and them apply the doppis YsVI_Eng_v1202only_final.
After this the game works just fine but is still in Japanese.

Nope still the same. Install the game, then the YS6LtoSPatch, start game and all extra modes are there. Install the translation patch and still in japanese

I don't know if this helps, but did you double-check your YsVI and patch-to directories, to make sure they match up?

Doppiapunta, I must say thank you for this freakin' awesome translation! I haven't had much time to play it so far, but from what I can see, it's great. You ought to be commended, my friend!
