d00de, all you need is someone to dump all the text for you cuz you can just be as cool as the Soma Bringer fan translation folks and just make a Wiki for the translation. :P
Granted, the SB folks ARE currently doing a patch for the game but still! The translations are available online and I love 'em for it! :D

Fan translation, eh? As with all other Falcom translations, I'd gladly bet money that this one will never get finished.

Not to mention 1 by Konami, 1 by Mastiff, and 3 by Namco-Bandai. Napishtim doesn't 100% count on that list due to restrictions near the very end of the project; if you count Konami's PS2/PSP translation, that's good too. Don't forget Typing of Ys.

Ys I & II Complete Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys Ys IV: Mask of the Sun Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim Ys: The Oath in Felghana You were saying? -Tom Well, I meant "current". They've all been "current" for quite some time now... And where can I find fan translations of Ys VI and F? A completed fan translation = an AVAILABLE fan translation. And by available, I mean that you can download it without someone yelling at you if they find out about it.

The problem is that we depend solely on one person who isn't interested anymore in doing patches. I hope you can motivate this Rasqual person, Wyrdy. I sure wish I had any hacking skills sometimes.
And we can only hope that Gideon will someday motivate himself to release the Ys V patch.

It would be nice if a translation patch for Zweii!! was ever released. All the more reason for me to try and get it! (Because otherwise, even if I do get it, I doubt I'll ever get round to playing it... ) Translation patches (or translations) seem like a work of wonder to me though! :'D Its... amazing that someone would actually do all this work for others for free! I just recently got to try Typing of Ys though! X'D I be so horridly bad! I can never make it beyond the third level! (Though... I was extremely delighted that I managed to get a B in the first level once by accident! O shock! )

Not to mention how creative one must be to translate/replace the jokes and double-entendres from Japanese to English.

Ah, the old Zwei!! patch. It started on RIGG (Nightwolve's old website), with a guy named "Galious". He was a professional translator and NightWolve gave him some tools to start working on the script translation. I think he did like 15% (?) of the translation the last time he took contact with NW but we never heard of him again after a few months had passed.

Hi, i started to work on a translation for this game (pc), or at least some basic analysis for starting the hacking-part. As far as i know there is no english localization (so far?) from falcom available or planned, so i think some would like to get an english translation for this really great game. Any thoughts about this?

Well there are 2 different official translations for Ys VI, and that didn't stop the current Ys VI PC project from happening. I would like to see this happen, because I am a happy owner of the game, even though its not in my house yet.

True True, never considered the financial aspect to an early translation on the game.

Cool! Very glad to hear that there is some interest in translation projects for Zwei!! and Xanadu Next. I just recently ordered both of these, and they both look like really fun games. People have been telling me that I need to play Xanadu Next for years now... Now I'll finally be getting around to it! : )

Wryd just hooked me up with both those games, but I think I am going to hold off on them for a long time. If he one day gets around to translating them, I'd rather play them in English first.

wyrdwadさんはすごいです。
That's really cool that you are so passionate about translating it. Once the game arrives, I'd be happy to help you with your project if you need additional help. I worked on some minor menu graphics for Nightwolve's Felghana patch awhile back.

Wyrdwad, if you don't mind my asking, what specifically would you be looking for from those willing to help the Xanadu Next translation project along? I'm also curious to know what progress has been made so far, that is unless it is confidential. : 0
Same question goes for anyone who is currently working on or interested in working on Zwei!!
