...I've been doing a lot of commission things lately, but I took a break in order to start on a celebratory desktop/wallpaper image in honor of the Ys Origin English patch. We'll see if I can finish this somehow....

I may tweak the composition some. I tried very, very hard not to give my favorite magician too much of the viewing space, but...

Lalala~ Work on the Origin wallpaper project continues...

Each of the in-frame images will be a separate piece of art in its own right; I'll splice them together in properly cropped format at the end.

Haven't drawn Dalles' individual rough yet, but here be your goddesses and heroes~

On that note-- can I get a quick poll around here of those interested? I'm going to make one at my native resolution of 1920x1080, but I'd like to know what other screen sizes we've got around here so I can create copies accordingly. Especially if anybody's still on a much smaller, non-widescreen res or the like.

Spamussir, I, too, envy your armor skillz. Especiallly in the perspective department! There are things I continue to muck up.

I also tried to do an art, driven by a desire to NOT suck for once. She be Mireille, my Monster Hunter avatar. Dual swords are the best. I left off the helm, cause I like her hairstyle. I picked it for a reason, and I'm sad MH helms always muck up the hair.

This drawing would not be possible without a wee bit of help from the Lumis in getting the pose right. Alas, the feet. They are horrid. I seriously gave up and just drew... some really bad ones. I could NOT get their perspective right for the life of me, nor could I find a reference for such a thing.
(Anyone know of such a thing for feetses?)

Oh that's pretty nice. Monster Hunter is always a plus. I was gonna give a critique then remembered not everyone wants them. Though, for claiming to want to not suck, you already don't so i don't think you have to worry about it.

Anyway, I have a second drawing I desire some critique/whatever on, since I seem to be getting into my swing again. This is probably the worst character of mine to draw and I cannot decipher why. Probably the closest to what I had in mind she's turned out so far.
Sorry for the faintness of the lines etc. Angling your monitor might help.

Ashurei - Great drawing! Her feet look nice. If you're interested, I can scan the "feet" sections of some of my art books. I'm sure there are some online resources, but I don't know of any at the moment.

Whoadang, Spamus. There's so much to praise about that one- Unsavory's not kidding ya.

I sympathize with certain characters always wanting to be a pain to draw for unknown reasons. Got a few of those myself... :\

In any case- critiques? I don't really have much. The left (raised) arm looks a bit odd in the crook of the elbow, but that's a tricky pose to draw. Maybe see if you can find some stock photos of that pose and work on tweaking it a tad?

Other than that very minor point- no bad news at all. You're improving- and your armor details still impress me much. Well done! XD

Sincerely guys I appreciate all the feedback and compliments and everything, because this is the most productive I have been in a loooong time. So, again, thanks a ton. This hobby and skill meant a lot to me and I hated that I seemed to be slipping. Now keep it coming!

Anyway, I drawed something a bit out of the norm for me; a MONSTER! This is a creature rather tied into the world of my characters. It's what happens if the spark of life (read: a soul minus the actual will) is applied without any sort of actual control. You get an abomination of confused parts and structure that only resembles the intended creature in passing.

Dude, no. I am 100% open to any and all criticism. Please, fire away. I need to get better. D: I like praise all the same and thank you all for it, but I certainly want to know what I've done horribly wrong, too!

With respects to your girl up there, it looks pretty boss! I'm more drawn to the hands on that one than the armors or the like. They're stupidly well drawn!

And your monster just looks amazing. The perspective on the head in particular is excellent!

I've also been super lazy in saying just how much I loved your Megaman cover, Gamemusicfreak. But it looks so so lovely, all inked that... *has to say so now!* I really hope you get the chance to ACTUALLY have that on the cover! It looks as good as the super pro ones!

Also, Ashurei doesn't draw much, but whenever ye do, it's really nice! I really like your character's pose, and the armours, and.... everything! Draw moar! :'D

And Lumi stuffs are super, beyond amazing as always! I don't mind Hugo getting more acreen-space at all~! *currently going through Hugo routes and totally falling in love with him~! X'''D* I can't wait to see it finished.
