That laser baby seal hidden boss in Ys VI. Cute lil' bugger, figured that boss' name would make a perfect handle for an Ys board.

It's called Ys, and you should play it 'cause it's really fun. Not many people here seem to have heard of it, though. =( Umm...Elin is just a pet name I've had since I was quite young. I didn't really put much thought into my username here. I originally signed up years ago just to say 'thank you' to Gillian Seed for his walkthrough to Sora no Kiseki FC, as my Japanese was so bad at the time that I never would've gotten through the game without it. ^_^ I hadn't really planned on sticking around, so... Although I never actually realised I could change my username. Maybe I will. ^_^

I have a friend whose name is Elin.
Very common name in Sweden. In fact, it was the #2 most common girl's name in Sweden in 2002 (#3 most popular in 2001).

Now you have to tell us the origin of Failalai! Is it from that song? "Fai la lai... fai la la-la lai la-lai, fai la lai... fai la la-la la la-la la-la-la-la la!" -Tom Ahaha, good guess, assuming we're thinking of the same song. ^_^ My parents really liked Simon and Garfunkel when we were just little kids, and used to play them all the time, especially one song that I knew at the time as the 'Failalai song' (I think it's 'The Boxer'? I don't know. I know all their songs, but almost none of them by name. ^_^). I could barely pronounce half the words, let alone understand what they actually meant. So I used to just sing along with the 'fai-la-lai' bit. It was a trivial memory, but it became quite precious to me, and I used to use it whenever I needed a name for anything. ^_^ I actually learned years later that it's 'lai-la-lai', but I'm not about to change it now. ^_~

Wow, it IS lai-la-lai, isn't it... yet somehow, with just the username Failalai, I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about. I'm surprised I was right, though. -Tom I suppose we must be from the same somewhat off-kilter planet. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. ^_~ I don't think anyone else ever guessed where Fai came from, though~ It's not really a reference to the song itself so much as it is one to a personal memory of mine, so... I can't fathom how you managed to guess. *shrugs* Weeeird. ^_^

Well... I guess most of you know where my name comes from.. It's from that awesome game called Starcraft. (for those who didn't know that)
I just thought it was a really cool name. So I started using it. At first when I started using internet I called myself Raptor, but I soon realized that there where too many people out there with the same nick.. So I changed to Zeratul instead.
(Nowadays I sometimes go by Zera or just Z as well)

The night was moistUh, yeah, anyways, ok, first off, I've been rapping since I was a little kid, since, I grew up with ol' school rap(not the garbage that's on the radio), & so I had many names over the years, actually, even before that, I had a "pretend" rock band called Harry Yellow. Anyways, I went thru many MC names, BJA, Mastermind, & Pep-C being the most prominent(along with my group MSG-Mental Stigmatic Guild ), & alot of this was influenced by my brother(who with Rudee Pardee of the LA Dream Team & some comedian, released a single together under the name DTP-Diverse Thought Process). Anyways, I think I was in my Pep-C phase, when I was chatting with this one dude I knew that was in the Bloods out of Houston(those not in the know, it's a big gang in the US, as in the Bloods & Crips), about ideas for an MC name for him. This was on a bus from school on our way to ROP(Regional Occupational Program...IIRC). Paranoia was one of those names, & he thought that was cool, though, he never adopted it. I however eventually at some point that year(12th grade back in 94/95) took on the Paranoia moniker, as for one reason, it fit me, since, I had a tendency to be paranoid, but also, I felt like people were paranoid of me as well for various reasons(like girls that would stay away from me, because they were afraid that I'd start digging them more then friends if we got too close). Anyways, so, I was Paranoia for awhile. At some point, I decided to add Dragon to my name, as I have always loved Dragons. And that had been my MC name for years. But, I also had another name, Drake Woods, which, you'll see me around the net as, as well. That's supposed to be my human name for my character of Paranoia Dragon. That started out, with me having an obsession with the name Risky Woods(which is a mediocre Genesis game that I haven't really played). I always remembered seeing a review of it in EGM, & thought it was kind of a cool, but funny name. Then, because of Paranoia Dragon, I decided that the Risky Woods, were just outside of my lair, & that they could also be called Drake Woods, as in both a dragon, & a real name. Since Paranoia Dragon is me as a Transformers, & Drake Woods is me in a human form. There's also a form inbetween metal & flesh that I came up with, kind of like a heavily armored Sleestak, but, since I can't draw, I don't have any artists rendition. I think that about covers it

I remember believing Risky Woods was called Ricky Woods, for a very long time. I saw the game once in a store, misread the title, and didn't see the game again in many years.
FM-77 will now be known as...
Ricky Woods!
Actually...

I remember there being an old thread like this one... guess that was too long ago? Well, guess I'll explain mine again for anyone new. My name is my real name, just in Japanese. The Kanji, if you can see it (if not, it's supposed to be where that square is next to my name, which you should be seeing in its stead), means the same thing. It's the Japanese word and Kanji for "life", which is also what my real name means in many South Asian languages (Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu). It's not just my name here, I've been using this name for many years now. It's my "pen name" I guess. Even my first post ever on the internet was using this name, which I think was IGN but technically it was "InochiTheDreamer" over there. So yeah, I made sure it was one I would want to keep. Before I found it I thought up crazy names that encompassed most of my biggest fanboyness... one of them was NinGamePlayTendoStationBoy or something horrible like that. So, obviously, I get very upset when I can't use my name somewhere. Like PSN, I was forced to use "Alekian", cuz somehow every variation of inochi was taken

No real interesting stories here. I just have an active imagination and ended up making up a character that I liked and have used this name for several things ever since.

My username originates from the fact that I'm incognito online as well. I don't want people knowing who I am, but I know it can't really be helped as long as you're involved in a community. Unsavory: It sounded cool. That's all there is to it. It is the ultimate prefix, and works well with any name! Unsavory Maggot was the first, and it's still my standing alias overall. It was an attempt to be grotesque, yet classy. Myrmidon: A rank from Faxanadu, and possibly Xanadu.

So I guess that makes us polar opposites... I should change my name to Unsavory Justin to fit in better

If the whole community started using the Unsavory prefix, I'm not sure what I would think. "

I agree! X) He should be called The Unsavory Captain from now on. Or to make it Falcom-esque, "Unsavory the Captain"

The Unsavory Captain sounds like someone that cannibals would want nothing to do with.
